It's ironic, isn't it? The same thing that keeps the OP's up at night with the trauma and PTSD puts others to sleep.. I've thought the same thing. I actually think it's Joel's voice as opposed to the stories (which are good but definitely traumatic.)

It's not the guys fault in story #1. He was just a 15 - 16 year old. He didn't know how many more people could've been in that abandoned house and if they had guns or knives. And he did run for help immediately. From the grievous injuries his friend had inflicted upon him, the only thing that would've changed if he had tried to help was 2 teens winding up in the hospital instead of one. Incredibly good stories Joel. Thank you (and the people that sent in stories!)

Halloween of 1999. I remember that day well too. Senior in high school. Saw Fight Club at the theater that day. Boy, that was a ride. No internet to accidentally spoil it. We thought it was just about angry guys beating the hell out of each other. Halloween was actually on a Sunday not Saturday in '99. But I can see why he would remember it that way. The bar was probably so crazy he just remembers it as the 31st instead of the 30th..

Haha. Not me just casually walking into my apartment complex, listening to this on speaker thinking: “glad nothing scary like that will ever happen to me,” and suddenly hearing a blood curdling screaming coming from one of the apartments in my complex. Rushed to my apartment and immediately dialed the police, can still hear them wailing as I’m leaving. Jesus Christ. 😢 I hope he’s okay. I didn’t know what else to do

I hope they took it seriously. :( you know how it goes sometimes. Also made sure my family locked up early, cause yeah...scared me stiff.

And A few Halloween tips - Drinking and getting high on Halloween, is not the best idea....Its Safer to travel in a group of three or more...This includes college age to adults ( makes it harder for criminals/predators.) Its better to stay home alone...than go out by yourself and become a target and never come home at all!!!....HAVE A HAPPY (SAFE) HALLOWEEN!!!😱💀🤡🎃⚰

Halloween 2005 was an especially memorable Halloween for me as well. I tripped and bussed my ass trying to impress a crush and it was true horror. I was Scream that year. Also, I was 7. She was 11. Later that night though we were at her house and eating our candy. She went to change and came back down in a red and black plaid skirt and long black stockings 💀 I almost passed out. Ahhh, good times.

Lol 😂 In my neighborhood college kids are still out trick or treating. It’s funny and cute. Last year I went through no exaggeration, 11 large bags of candy. That’s how many kids came through. 😫 I’m 34 so anyone under 21 is a child in my eye lol 😂.

I've legit made that "take 19 instead of 79" choice twice before. Both times at night. Similar to the roads where I live in Pennsylvania, but when you don't drive those specific ones regularly and you factor in the deer etc they're absolutely not the faster option. Seriously hoping I don't make that mistake a third time.

@@honkytonkdog7141 For real. I'm in NW PA where we've got 6, 66, and yes, 666. It's literally right down the road from me. That West Virginia spot tho. So I-79 takes you down into WV. Both times I got off of 79 must have been the "I'm finally in a different state/time to pee/time to eat" situation. I have NO CLUE why it was after dark either time, but in both cases my fool self decided it'd be faster as the crow flies. I have lived in the PA wilds almost my whole life, yet those two times I conveniently forgot about white tail deer existing apparently. The other place that Idlve had weird crap happen but in PA is actually on 219 come to think about it. I have, I swear to god, lost up to a couple of hours if I'm traveling at night from Phillipsburg to Bald Eagle (sometimes as far as Altoona). It used to be kind of funny until it happened twice back to back when my mom was with me. We'll stop in Phillipsburg for gas (I usually call it, the top of the hill because eventually you spend a bunch of time on this windy ass road in a deep valley in the Alleghenies surrounded by thick tree cover). We leave there by like 9:30-10 o'clock and I swear to crap we get to the first traffic light in ages (it's next to a Snappy's convenience store, or it used to be) and the clock will say, like 12:30. It doesn't take that long! At this point, though, I just laugh because what else can I do? I haven't been down that way since Summer of '19. Kind of makes me want to drive there just to test it out lol
