@sbravo831 Yes, saving dogs. Saving feeling, sentinent creatures whom feel pain, fear and are innocent and just want to be loved and happy. I would save a dog's life any day over a human's. Humans are the worst, nature destroying creatures creating pain, suffering, and by their egoistic, selfish nature practice r@piñg the sh1t out of everything they get their leech-like filthy ways spread around on. Humans were a mistake.

I have no words how incredibly stupid it is to sit and wait knowing a wildfire is coming directly at you. the idea of waiting like her husband is Superman or invincible like he can walk through fire is beyond me. It was so incredibly stupid considering she was taking this chance with a child

Agree. She also made firefighters work more than needed to rescue her when they could have done other things. Her husband drove back into danger when he could have been in a much safer area. I understand that not everyone has to think like a collective, but she should have followed other people and go to a safe zone.

I agree, what an idiot… It was a mandatory evacuation, and she chose not to follow directions. All because of her and her husband’s “intuition” when the people with experience and know how, had already told her to leave. Stupid people making it harder for first responders.

Wow!!! You guys sound like a bunch of ignorant people, I actually lived through that wildfire myself, we were told in the town of paradise that we had nothing to worry about, the fire started up in the mountains far away from us, all of a sudden 60 mile an hour winds came up, and before we knew it, our town was on fire with no escape plan, we all thought we had time, it took 80 football fields in minute, please do some research, California campfire, I literally choked up reading your comments, when you have no idea what we went through, maybe you should think before you type never knowing of people who went through that might be reading it

I had to put my dog down after 12 years together, she was in pain and dying so it was an act of mercy. I can’t imagine just throwing her away for a puppy. Our connection just grew through the years, she was family. Even now, getting a new puppy will never replace her. It was heartbreaking but a blessing at the same time to hold her in my arms as her soul left her body. Pets are living beings, innocents entrusted into our care like children, and should be respected as such.

@@kadygirlforever Amen. ❤️ I'm so very sorry for your deep & terrible loss. I'm so very sorry that you lost your good girl. 💔 May she rest in peace, perfection, freedom, & Joy, for Eternity. You WILL see her again. I KNOW you will. 💗 I wish you comfort, healing, strength, support, Light, Hope, & ever-increasing Peace, until that day, a long, long time from now. (Yet, a blink of an eye, in the face of Eternity.). I am not surprised that a new puppy won't "take her place". *_*No*_*_ precious animal friend ever takes the place of _*_*another*_*_ precious animal friend._ But, having a new friend in your life _can_ be a blessed, healing balm for the heart, Spirit, & Soul. And, it can bring Love, Light, Life, Laughter, Beauty, & JOY to your life, which can lighten your burden of grief & loss. And, having a new FOCUS, & being very busy, as one is, with a new animal friend (especially a puppy!) can also be a blessed, helpful, hopeful, & joyful distraction from our grief & loss. However, please don't rush it. Your heart will know. ❤️ Alternately, if you need the healing (& distraction), but do not feel quite ready, you can just go to the shelter, & fall in Love with someone, so that you can't HELP yourself but take your precious new friend home. ;) God be with you, hold you close, & bless you hard. 💗

When there is a mandatory fire evacuation you go. I'm not one to usually comment but that last story got to me.. and a mandatory evacuation, especially with the child, leave no questions asked. you don't wait for somebody else to come get you! you just go! it almost makes me a little bit upset but at the same time I'm glad they were able to get through and tell their story. I hope This was a big lesson. I live in Southern California and I see wildfires Every year and It just makes me scared for people that think like these people..they aren't always as bad as the Camp Fire but they do take lives every year and those mandatory evacuations need to be taken so so seriously especially especially especially if you have children.

Same in Florida with hurricane evacuations. First time you don't go may be your last..... Downed electrical lines, falling trees, drowning, floating snakes and alligators, tornadoes. They plainly tell you they can't come get you in the middle of the storm. If I'm in an evacuation zone.... Even after 68 years...I evacuate.

The camp fire story gave me the chills. I can't stand hearing about it. My niece and her family almost didn't make it out. We live in oroville my family was expecting them but they had gotten stuck in the worst of the traffic we were beyond panic when it took almost 2 hrs for them to get to my aunt and uncles house. My poor niece was only 7 and was so traumatized. I will never be able to forget it seemed like time stood still waiting for it to be over seeing all the smoke tons of ash all over everything.

@@amg3790 Yes, I do. It’s a noun, generally associated with online communities of men who belittle, demean, troll, and sometimes attack women for misguided beliefs that they are the sole reason for their problems. Sometimes even taking their misdirected aggression out on sexually active men out of jealousy or other selfish reasons. Essentially they’re neck beards who lack social etiquette and blame women for everything wrong with their life and sometimes even equate that with what’s wrong with the world. They also sometimes break into women’s houses in an attempt to to whatever depraved incel crap they have planned. When people try and pull these “gotcha moments” on a comment about someone getting what they had coming it really comes off like you’re trying to defend the guy hit with the bat, is that what your intentions were here?

The Honda Civic story is one of those where everyone should do a search on what to do, in case it happens to you. Professional security/body guard types always say when someone is attempting to kidnap you that it is imperative NOT to get into villains auto. 90% game over if you do. Guy opening door and hoping for the best (especially with gf in car-rape/murder/life of torture/more rape) is nuts! All the above said would be going through my head and the more I like the odds of doing some demolition derby with a gun toting 3 on 2 situation. You never know what you are going to do until you are in a particular situation, but reading this I hope everyone will do a search to see what the best course of action would be...somehow I am thinking that getting out of your one ton metal locked enclosure with power and wheels is not the best option. It's good to hear that they survived, but the PTSD and chronic pain for life would almost drive a person crazy. Being a guy and getting worked over to an inch of death has got to wrench his psyche and not being able to get revenge (primitive I know..but lower brain still there for a reason) would make for some nasty/very frustrating flashbacks. Don't EVER trust that people who have already proven to bad are somehow going to "all of the sudden" be nice and let you off easy. Most often these cases end in death and make for an episode of Unsolved Mysteries. R.I.P. - Robert Stackhouse (insert theme song).

The Camp Fire will always be with me. I spent my college years in college in Chico, twenty minutes away from Paradise. There is no going back to that place. Ironically, it was the first place I ever saw snow. In a weird turn of events, I volunteer in an animal shelter with a woman who lost everything there. Everything except her and her husband's records. They owned a really popular store in downtown Chico. It's where I bought my first record ever. Her husband sold it to me ten years ago and now I'm meeting her, almost to the day. The happy ending is that she is now opening a new record store in Florence, Oregon. It makes me so happy they were able to make something out of the saddest and scariest situation possible.

In the first story… lady says that San Francisco is amazing and she loves living there… Also says that she stepped on a used needle and gets a disease, gets kidnapped in her own apartment, laughed at during support group sessions. But other than that it’s great!

This is for the two women who went camping and were accosted. I'm so sorry you had this experience. But don't give up on camping together. I can tell you that just up until s couple years ago I was an avid outdoors woman. I used to run 7 to 10 miles every morning on along the Potomac river, Geo. Washington parkway at 5 a m. There would be other people occasionally, but it was often dark out and I ran through three or four large areas of woods. I eventually moved to New Hampshire and took up mountain climbing and hiking. I most often was alone because as a nurse I worked 3pm to 3am. so it was hard to find hiking partners. I always had a knife mostly as a useful tool but also for safety. I spent years climbing and hiking the White Mountains. I enjoyed every moment I was out there. I was never accosted, hit on or threatened. It wasn't because I was ugly either as some might think. It's because most people that enjoy hiking and climbing are there because they enjoy the outdoors and not to pick up or get picked up. So don't lose the desire to go camping, it's so much fun and being outdoors sleeping under the night sky is amazing. God Bless.

I'm from Santa Rosa and lived through the Tubbs fire.. to see my entire hometown demolished by fire around us is and was one of the most terrifying things I've been through. We had to drive through fire, and I don't even know how we made it. I had multiple friends that lost homes..and somehow ours was left standing when a lot on our street did not. Almost 5 years to this day actually. Edited to add...omg it was EXACTLY five years ago to this day 😭

Yeah, that story royally pisses me off. Doctors in general seem so flippant about situations like this. PeP and PrEP exist for a reason. Is not getting stuck with a random needle an urgent situation that could be massively helped with medication? I think so! I've had a couple scary situations in the past, and when I expressed concerns to doctors, they basically said "you'll be fine. You don't need medicine." What if I did? What if I had contracted some life altering disease that could have been prevented, but you decided to screw me and my life over because, well, it's not you or your life, so you don't care. Doctors. 🙄

Well my Tia dipped and left me in my floatie and ran for her life. I saw the shark but was then grabbed by my dad and taken to shore. I thought I saw a mermaid and later told my whole class my experience with my mermaid friend 😅

Good on the lady who saved all the dogs. I have a pit bull too. His name is Apollo. He is from a breeder though who does tremendous work. Ethical only and by referral only. My cousin is friends with the lovely couple and got him for me as a birthday present after I lost my Cookie after 11 years. He is the best dog in the world. He is by my side at all times. I can’t imagine my life without my baby boy. I can’t believe people could take such a loyal, charming creature and force them to fight. It’s disgusting.

First story is messed up on every level, but a big one is that how he wasn't able to get medication. Life-saving medication like that needs to be free.
