This is a wonderful resource. If you're taking suggestions I'd say references for front and back view of a run cycle that isn't just jogging are much needed on the internet. Also goes for running up and downstairs. All I can find are excercise videos that don't convey any emotion.

@JustForReference3 жыл бұрын
Hello! Yes I am so sorry. I dont have a double camera set up to record two angles at once. I will be fixing that in the future with two cameras and two camera stands (hopefully), as I understand it is important to have matching cameras. (I only have my phone right now x.x, sorry for the inconvenience)

My character is falling from a massive bookshelf- I cant figure out how to make the impact "realistic" with out her totally pancaking. sigh. This video was rad though- helped a fair bit!
@JustForReference3 жыл бұрын
Ah I see, how is she falling? Is she hanging off the edge then falling, cause you could have her impact be more of a crumple, legs hitting first then collapsing underneath her. Or maybe a more cartoony approach where she bounces a few times upon impact? I wont be posting for a little bit but I can add something like this for next time, let me know what your looking for :). Glad I was able to help a little!
@BlooGhost3 жыл бұрын
@@JustForReference I ended up watching a lot of videos of gymnastics tumbles and incorporated a bit more of the cartoony “pancaking” . The bookcase is falling along with the character, so at the last second she pushes off and tumbles feet over head, double bounces, pancakes and slides a bit with the momentum. It doesn’t quite feel as dramatic, or as hard an impact as it should be since the bookcase is SO tall and she is SO small. But it works, and my professors have said it feels good, so I think I’ll leave it for now just cause the deadline is coming up- I need to spline like a madwoman!!😂😵 thanks for being interested and willing to help! I’ll definitely look forward to your next video :)
@JustForReference3 жыл бұрын
@@BlooGhost Ah I gotcha. Gymnastic tumbles are perfect reference! Glad you found stuff that worked for you animation and that your profs are pleased. Although I am not in illustrations or graphics, I am getting up in years and have a NeuroMuscular disorder. But last Friday I had an extremely bad fall, and am suffering with the consequences. I think I broke my tailbone (again)....3rd time! I have a very smooth bamboo wood floor, and evidently had spilled a little bit of canned mushy cat food. I had some old worn out slippers on (w/o any tread left) and as I stepped on it (it was shaded on the floor a few inches from bright sunlight) my leg flew up in the air and down I came ... tailbone-butt first, however, my palms and back of my head? were next. I was flat on my back, but I think my body must have been in a very slight v-shape as I came down. I was not in a folded up position. Looking for a video that shows what happened to show my doctor.

Hey! Thank you so much! I had plans for a few videos but the dojo got closed down temporarily. It should open up by the end of the month then I can hopefully get out some new video and 100% do a frantic run down a corridor for you. Any other specific information you can give me in that would be great!
@StrokesandCurvesMultimedia3 жыл бұрын
oh, so sorry to hear about the dojo temporarily closing. I am an animator. There are not many visual animation references for basic actions. Even the angles provided might not work. Movies have a lot of references, but there is no catalogue of actions with the list of the movie title included. Hence, if you go into this niche, it would be great. Visual reference for animators with several camera angles included. Just a thought. Would like to know if you understand this.

@@StrokesandCurvesMultimedia it's all good, were fine just had to follow the rules n stuff of the times you know? ❤ Ah yes that's actually exactly why I made this first video, I went into it fully intending on doing a series then life kinda prevented me from doing so for a while and then I realized I only have one camera and not enough helpers to shoot properly. I went to school for animation initally actually, then moved to modeling/games and now doing virtual backgrounds for a studio. I wanted to have 3 camera running all at the same time XD but had to make due with one camera and one helper (the big man who is my father lol) and no editor (i was useing Adobe after effects for this at it was all I had) I am hopeing after we open back up I can get the two cameras and proper help to make better videos for my peers with my stunt experience (before school I used to do stunts for movies/TV and still do occasionally) and I was hoping I would get feedback like this so I could make more tailored videos to actually help people. So thank you! It might be a little bit before I can make better videos containing your request but I am determined to get one out eventually. And then I can put out content faster too.
