I was struggling SO bad today and last night (weight gain) but I went over some of your old videos and it helped me tremendously. I was SO close to just restricting again (and I just got my cycle back last month) and already calculating calories but i am so so sick of that life. im not overweight but my clothes that are too small now really trigger me. it truly is making me look into my life at another level; why? why does food have such a grip on me? and it ultimately doesnt have anything to do with food, just a habit formed from bad coping mechanisms. It could be food for me, drugs for another, alchocol for him, excessive spending for her..etc. so i see that, and i realized i truly need to face my stressors head on. thank you!

congrats on getting your period back! :) get rid of the old clothes that do not fit, find comfortable clothes especially for the recovery period, old clothes can be super triggering.

'I don't have to feel like I failed' - that hit home hard. I can hardly imagine what feeling so free about food would be like.

Hi Elisa! I've been loving your videos and they are very helpful in my bulimia recovery. One thing I really struggle with is the extreme desire to purge after normal sized meals of my fear foods. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? I am not restricting or compensating in any way, but I could use some help with fighting through the desire to purge.

I love your videos but how do you know when you're full? I have suffered from anorexia ans bulimia for so long I'm not really sure when I'm full anymore tgough I am practicing mindful eating as this is what my treatment team and I think is the best for me.

Hey Elisa thank you so much for your lovely videos. It’s been giving me a lot of relief and calmness during recovery. May I know, as an intuitive eater, how rare to often you eat/snack while you are engaged in other other ‘resting state’ activities such as watching tv, reading book, etc. When I keep them separate and try to be fully present while eating, my subconscious thoughts would say stop so I could move on to the next task. This causes anxiety so I will overeat with ‘now or never’ mindset... Any advice? Thanks :)

Hi! i have a question- how do you get rid of the good and bad foods mindset, when you ahve food intolereances? My food intolerances make me feel VERY restricted and I am constantly thinking about what I'm going to eat and can eat and will eat that's ok, and not going to disturb my food intolerances. But then I end up binge eating. Do you ahve any advice on this?

Hi, your 'BranwashED book mentions there are two sample meal plans for download on your website. I can't find them -are they still there?

Happy new year Elisa!! Thanks so much for these videos. I'm currently in recovery and drink two protein shakes a day with snacks and dinner. I'm sorta afraid to eat after 7 PM, because I have acid reflux and I'm scared I won't be hungry in the morning for my shake. I get hungry at night but I don't want to risk eating. What should I do? I watched another one of your videos and you touched on that subject a bit. 💜❤️

Hi! Acid reflux can be common symptom in recovery and it will pass in time. but why you drink protein shakes and dont eat normal solid food? and if you would eat whenever you want, and listen to your body, eating after 7 pm as well, then over time your hunger will normalize, but if you keep on restricting on some parts of the day it cant get back to normal. more about the digestive problems in recovery www.edinstitute.org/paper/2014/2/9/tummy-troubles

I do eat normal foods - snacks and dinner. I just am required to drink those two. I will take your advice (:

What do You think about setting ome calorie limit? I have a really big problem with overeating, binges etc and Im not asking about obsessing about food but it's ruining my life. Is it ok to use this common sense that for eample eating over 3000 calories/day is too much and I should not eat any more ?
@FollowTheIntuition6 жыл бұрын
I cannot recommend that. i ate over 3000 cals and if i would have said to myself it is a limit i would still felt restricted no matter if 3000 is yes better than lets say 2000 calories. ultimately you have a free choice to do what you feel is best for you, or what works for you, i cannot tell you what to do, but its not what i believe in. i know how ED always wants to "reason" and say "its not normal" its "too much" and try to make it super logical, but ultimately its another restriction. for a normal person maybe 3000 sounds like a lot of food but recovery is a whole another story, its more complicated than just a calorie intake

Should I listen to hunger? Despite this mental hunger? Even when BMI I have 19? I'm afraid I will eat too much. I watch your movies, but my head tells me that I'm too fat, that I should not eat so much ... I do not know what to do anymore: ((((

Thank you for the videos! I'm still struggling a lot with intuitive eating :( I became overweight after trying to diet, so I already overshot my set point but I still didn't get my period! I try to eat intuitively but I feel like I don't know what it is. I eat every 2-3 hours until I'm satisfied whatever I want but I'm still gaining :( How is this possible when I'm already overweight? Please help

Unless you gone through calories counting you can’t be an “intuitive eater”. You don’t master portions control and servings and nutrients you eat. Great!

Hi honey, thank you for the movies. I have BMI 19, but I started limiting to 1500 inches. I am afraid that if I eat more, I will get fat. Please help me. Natalie.

you need to recover your body and mind, by eating more the metabolism can also increase and get back to normal, plus all other functions of the body like the hormones that regulate your hunger cues etc. eating enough is the only option, there is no other way to recover. you need to gain weight to get your health back! you can start by reading my book if you want to know all about recovery and how to start: followtheintuition.com/book
