I'm a huge Virginia fan but I thought Hopkins would win this one. But that's silly of me to think because my boys in Charlottesville are the bomb.

They choked this game so bad, that turn over on the fast break where angelus slips.. Milliman shouldve been screaming for a timeout. Also how you gunna get the ball 3 times in OT and your best shot was a diving one hand shovel shot smh

Wow what a game, Virginia has that X factor during playoffs with this squad. Big players coming up clutch and D coming in with big stops… Could of gone either way, but will be fun watching Cavs go further

So depressing. Wonder how bad we will be next year considering how much we lose. Degnon, Angelus, Grimes, Peshko, Melendez, Smith, Ierlan, Deans, Szuluk, Jaronski, Aviles, Martin, McDermott...all that production and experience. All gone.

All to be replaced by the best recruits d1 lacrosse can find. As if they suffer talentwise. Ivy league lacrosse is the goal or should be the goal of elite players.

@@snowman1588 1. Hopkins is not an Ivy League school. I know because I attended it. Elite academic institution, absolutely. But not in the Ivy League. Anyone who claims to know anything about Hopkins should know that. 2. We do not get "the best recruits d1 lacrosse can find" anymore & have not in some time. Besides, they'd be freshmen. You cant replace production & experience being lost. Fact. According to Inside Lacrosse Yearly high school recruit rankings we got: 2024 - 0 in top 20, 0 in top 10 2023 - 1 in top 20, 0 in top 10 2022 - 0 in top 20, 0 in top 10 2021 - 0 in top 20, 0 in top 10 2020 - 3 in top 20, 1 in top 10 (all leaving this year, none earned 1st team AA, Smith, McDermott, Grimes) 2019 - 0 in top 20. 0 in top 10 2018 - 2 in top 10 (Epstein & Zinn) 2017 - 1 in top 10 (DeSimone) 2016 - 1 in top 20 (Rapine), 1 in top 10 (Williams) 2015 - 1 in top 10 (Supinski) 1 in top 20 (Sells) 2014 - 3 in top 10 (Stanwick, Tinney, Valis) Those are not the best recruits in D1 as you claim. The last times we got the "elite" was Epstein in 2018 & 2014 with Stanwick & Tinney who were not enough, because we got little else. We consistently lose out to UVA, Duke, Maryland, Cornell, Princeton, & now, Notre Dame, Georgetown, plus others. 3. We do suffer talentwise. We are not as good as the top teams, talentwise & have not been in some time. WE have had only *ONE* player earn ONE 1st Team All American honor in the past TEN years. (Joel Tinney) Which is abysmal. We used to average between 1 to 3 EVERY YEAR and sometimes, pre 1990, we'd get FOUR or FIVE per year. Now we get 1 player, once a decade. We have won two national championships in the last 37 years. We have not won a national championship in 17 years. These kids coming through now were just being born. Our history means nothing to the kids today. That is what we are....history. We are a dormant program, mid-level, that has nothing left but our legacy, a historical field and a nice facility, that isa shrine to our history. We have not been even remotely close to a National Championship in 16 YEARS. The last time we lost less than 4 games in a season was 13 YEARS ago. In 2021-2023 we only had ONE player receive ANY HONOR above honorable mention. (Alex Mazzone, 2nd team AA in 2023) 4. "Ivy League" lacrosse does not offer athletic scholarships. So great lacrosse players from humble means cannot afford to attend the Ivy League schools without extremely strong academics that can earn them an academic scholarship. 5. " Ivy league lacrosse is the goal or should be the goal of elite players." Laughable. Other than Princeton or Cornell historically, both of whom have fallen on hard times, only rarely, compared to the non-Ivys do the elite players choose the Ivy's, other than Princeton or Cornell, with Yale occasionally mixed in. Ivy League lacrosse is simply not as high quality as the top group of programs NOT in the Ivy League. Aside from Cornell pre 1980 and Princeton in the 90s, with the rare win by Yale (2018), Ivy simply does not reside on the same level historically with Hopkins, Syracuse, Maryland, Virginia, Duke, UNC, and now Notre Dame, Penn State, and others are pulling even more recruits away. You know very little. Make sure you know what you are talking about, next time you make an empirical statement.

@@USCFlash please dont be a fool. Sounds like youre whining the players arent doing more to better themselves. Hopkins should put out more recruiting then if its not up to par. Not since pietramala left have i heard of that school. What i meant by ivy league lacrosse is those teams regularly face each other and is a huge advantage to be from that area vs coming from Colorado or California. Doesnt matter the conference whether big ten, acc, ivy, centennial whatever it may be. How is Denver doing better? I mean for every person that isnt from the NE playing at an elite level should be your desire unless you like to give up like you showed against Virginia. Lastly baltimore has turned to shit no one wants to live there. Sounds like youve never left the suburbs my friend i recommend you stay in them pussy.

@@USCFlash what i meant you is Youre whining about players that should be bettering themselves and have a program that is just as elite as an ivy league program. Youre crying bc hopkins isnt recruiting better or developing the talent they havw recruited. Good for you i dont care if you went to oxford youre some whiny b.

Youre just whining bc they lost. We all know the conferences. JHU can and should do better about recruiting and developing. Pietramala is the last good coach they had.

Well, the Blue Jays hoped to tame the Wahoos' speed by being physical during the first half...Their lead in the 3rd quarter was therefore actually fragile... So, when the Wahoos finally tied the score during the 4th quarter, they had momentum...When the Blue Jays were still unable to score in overtime, the Wahoos tossed a shot towards Philadelphia... Go Terps...Fear the Turtle...Beat the Wahoos...
