BYU’s team is legit. I got some buddies on the team and those guys are up at 6 practicing pretty much year round. Sure they got some old guys on the team but let’s be real, they work just as hard as any D1/D2 program and it shows.

In my senior year of college, back in '07, we had a recruit play with us through fall ball and then transfer to BYU. We then got to see him win a National Championship with BYU that same year. I have some sour grapes when it comes to that school. Congrats to all of the MCLA Clubs. Competing at that level has unique challenges.

Club Lacrosse is good lacrosse - especially out West. A lot of kids stay home. A lot of kids who are good enough to play at the NCAA level will choose to stay at schools like Stanford or the UC's. BYU's biggest advantage as that they are 2 years older than everybody else because they go on their missions before they go to college.

Below may not be the best way to put it. MCLA is for teams whose school doesn’t support them as a varsity sport. MCLA is pay to play by the players but the top talent in MCLA could compete with some solid teams at all the NCAA levels. They’re not Notre Dame or maybe even Salisbury but the talent is better than you’d expect
