Please I'd love to see a workout video. Your voice is outstanding, just great vocal production, unfussy, beautiful and buoyant through your long range. Brava.

ok so how do I know the difference between chest voice, head voice, false setto etc. and how can I tell when I'm listening to a song which is being used.
@RN_302510 ай бұрын
Falsetto is usually more breathy, so it focuses on breath control and sustaining your breath, whereas Chest voice uses more of the stomach and lower body to control breath. Your head voice is usually used for notes in the higher register, an example of this would be Mariah Carey's Whistle notes, they are in head voice. (I hope I'm not wrong, I've been a soprano for about 5 years now and this is what I know)

As someone who, over the years, apparently stumbled into mixed voice without being specifically taught, I now find it difficult to be sure when I'm using chest voice and when head voice. My best suggestion is to put your fingertips on the top of your breastbone and see if you can feel your voice reverberating in your chest or not.

Awesome video! What if my voice is lower and I can't hit some of the higher notes? Should I just keep trying??
@KebaMusic4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Amy! So it depends on what is happening when you’re trying to hit the notes . If you cannot reach the note in any way then you may just have a different range. but if you’re having trouble hitting it full out or you’re experiencing cracking, it just means you have to develop that part of your voice more. The best way to tell if a note is in your range is by trying to do it on a lip trill. If you can lip trill it, most likely you can sing it, although it may take time to get comfortable in that range. These exercises are also good to extend your range so I would recommend only going as far up as you can and then joining back in on the way down. As you do the exercises and build your voice more, you should be able to start inching higher and higher with time .

Hi Keba. I've just watched your video and I've found it very useful. It's 20 minutes that I practice and I can feel a significant improvement already. I have a question. On 1st of July I'll get married and I want to make a surprise to my future husband by singing "never enough" from the musical "the greatest showman". The problem is, how can I practice this warm up before the song? I can't just disappear for 20 minutes in the middle of the wedding and practice in the toilet of the hotel, can I? 😂 Do you have any tips? Thank you and, again, great video❤
@KebaMusic2 жыл бұрын
Firstly, favorite comment! Secondly, congrats on getting married and how exciting that you will be surprising your husband with "Never Enough". Yasssssss. Once you warm up for these 20 mins earlier in the day, your voice is usually good to go for hours as long as after you warm up you don't overuse it, drink a lot of alcohol or take a nap before your performance. If you're having drinks (as it's a day of celebration), I would say go easy before your performance, and balance it out with lots of water. My college voice teacher would say 2 glasses of water to 1 alcoholic beverage. After you sing, do your thing lol. Lastly, before the song, if you can get at least 5-10 minutes to yourself to lip trill the song a few times before you sing it, that should help get you ready for the performance. All the best and wishing you and yours a beautiful wedding day!
