I have the 6.5 inch Ryobi I whacked a fine cut diablo blade on it and use a 6amp HP battery....I love the saw it cuts like a hot knife through butter.

Isn't the saw heavier because it's plug in with more RPM ? I see the weight as a trade off for more power.

There's more to it than just plugging it in. For one thing, the saw is constructed with more cast aluminum parts, rather than just stamped. Secondly, the motor is larger to work with the larger blade size.

@@sawinery-woodworking oh no doubt but I believe batteries are limiting and plug ins don't have a limit so you can make em big without worrying about a power source. I wont use many battery powered just because once the battery goes or the warranty, for the price? I can get a decent saw for 100 with a good blade corded brushless or a 150$ DeWalt that needs bigger batteries and more juice using up my drills batteries. Just my way of thinking atleast.

@@budsvilleusa8888 A lot of people still prefer corded tools, myself included. While I have several cordless tools, I mostly use them in cases where getting power where I need it would be inconvenient. The exception to that is I regularly use a cordless drill/driver, impact driver and trim router. The decision to use corded or cordless is mostly one of personal preference. For me it’s a question of power verses convenience. Corded still wins the contest for power in every case I know of. However, I have recently reviewed a couple of cordless mini-chainsaws, and was amazed by their performance. While I can’t use them to cut down trees or to turn logs into planks, they are great for trimming trees. On the other hand, although I have a cordless circular saw (the one in the video) it doesn’t get a lot of use.

@@sawinery-woodworking I'm just a DIY kind of guy and when I was helping my buddy back in the day as his apprentice he would always complain about all of the batteries, I swore if I had the option , I'm going corded !!! Cordless is amazing though, considering they don't change batteries down the line or something of that nature which is what I fear really. I don't want to dump 500 on a FlexVolt DeWalt to find out they discontinued FlexVolt . You're right though, definitely preference and what you need it for I guess honestly. Great content man, keep up the great work!!!
