any tips on locating wahoo?....water temp, depth, whatever...lol thanks
@KeyWestWaterman3 жыл бұрын
we typically look for bait in clear water around some type of structure. doesn't always pan out, sometimes they just aren't around. and sometimes you get lucky. don't watch water temp a ton, but if its abnormally cold we try to find warmer water.

Easily becoming one of my favorite fishing/outdoor channels. As someone who probably could never get the courage to go spear fishing in anything more than 6-8ft of water its incredible to watch some of these dives in open water. Damn also the clip 6:24 at where you spear the trailing fish so your bud could hit the one in the lead is exactly what I'm talking about, that's absolutely pro.

The Hawaiian name for wahoo is “Ono”, but we prefer “O-yeah”!😂 Ono means “tasty” or “good to eat”...and that’s perfect for wahoo! So good. Still on my spearo bucket list (caught many trolling)...I’ve shot AT them but not landed one yet. I need a breakaway setup too, it’s very disheartening to watch your gun disappear into the blue when it’s part of the floatline system as a big kingfish, AJ, or yellowtail (pacific) streaks away because the shot didn’t stone them. Hunting bluewater I run 2 of those Rob Allen floats with a big game bungee between them, for less chance of tear-out if I grab float two. Great vid Aaron, thanks for sharing it.🤙

Question, is the float line attached to the shaft line all the time or do you somehow attach it as you need it? Either way, how does that work? If it is attached to the float all of the time, I guess it is NOT connected to the gun? If it is NOT attached to the float the entire time, how do you attach it after shooting the fish? Thanks.
@KeyWestWaterman3 жыл бұрын
the float line is attached to the shooting line and the float at all times. when you shoot, nothing is attached to the gun it just breaks away, instead of attaching the shooting line to a line guide. hope that makes sense lol
