Hi! So I have a question for you! I want to convert my pink princess that’s currently in half soil, half leca into full leca. Do I need to do the water transfer first and just keep her in water? And for how long? She has big beautiful half pink/half green leaves and I’m scared to kill her! I have a monstera that I transferred and it’s doing great but I’m scared to lose my beautiful girl. Any advice??

Hi there! Sorry its been really busy on my end. The conversion actually did amazing! It was putting out new leaf growth and the plant actually didn't even go into shock. The only annoying thing was it kept doing that thing that philodendrons do where it gets stuck in the sheath and I had to keep helping it get unstuck. Unfortunately I ended up losing the plant to thrips so I don't have it anymore. As far as your question, anything can grow in just water. You will have to change the water frequently and get a water soluble fertilizer. You will definitely lose the existing root system as it will rot away and the plant will grow hydroponic roots. They look furrier than the usual soil roots. Depending on how big the plant is, it can go into shock with the transition. Generally what I like to do is propagate into hydroponic. Then you don't really have to deal with getting off all the soil and just cut the plant up and put it into water as you would if you were propagating. Hope this helps!
