What is REALLY key is that optimally all access points need to be hard-wired so that they can exchange roaming and association data (e.g. the ARP entry needs to be updated so that packets are routed quickly to the correct AP).

Great video. I do residential lighting control and AV. Wifi is usually the medium of control in these systems. It seems I can’t learn enough about wifi and APs. Its hard to specialize in so many different technologies, but i do my best.

Great video, thanks. I'm having trouble getting devices to roam, so thanks for the heads up about the roaming assistant. However, how do you find the RSSI of connected devices to know where to set the cut off threshold? For instance, my iPhone doesn't show RSSI value.
@Behfor Жыл бұрын
Thanks, you can either use a wifi analyzer on your phone to find the rssi or check the wireless logs in the system log section of the wireless router to see the live rssi of all the connected devices. This video might be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIK8gX6eaJeDeqc Thanks

Really great explanation! 🙂 Regarding the AiMesh, why do Asus use the same channel? Ideally would they be better on different channels but it seems like AiMesh knows otherwise
@Behfor2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, a wireless router or AP can use a single channel for each radio at the same time, so if for example an AiMesh node is using the 2.4GHz (channel 1) radio to connect to the router and also broadcasting a 2.4 GHz network, this network has to use the same channel which is channel 1.

can you please do a video on dual WAN load balance configuration...I have two internet providers and use dual wan in load balance mode, but connecting clients have issues unless i enable their IP in routing rules list and assign it to either one of my WAN connetions...this is not practical, as if a guest connects on to my guest network, connection looks OK but they experience issues!!

Thank for this video , i would like to ask , when you enable Assistance Roaming the client will be disconnected from the AP1 and connect to AP2 . But the roaming isn’t transparent the client will be disconnected from ap1 / lose connection / connect to Ap2 . Right? Thank you
