My doctor put me on a therapeutic dose of zinc to heal my gut. Long story short, I put together months later that the zinc had immensely helped my skin, and my skin had declined after the zinc therapy ended. My doctor said it was clear from that my body needed the higher dose of zinc and put me back on it. My skin is so glowy and happy again!

Katie Newton what constituted a "therapeutic dose" according to said MD? And what form did/do you take? Picolinate is generally well-tolerated by most bodies, so it's oft the recommended form, but every body & response is different! (I take 50mg every night b/c I'm massively mercury toxic, & I can't recall (Thanks to hg in brain 😭) why I have to take it at night, other than potential interference of absorption of something else in my bevy of supps, all taken to help slowly restore functionality the hg has destroyed. Such as memory, as displayed here! 😣 So 50mg/daily for me, and now wondering if I should experiment with higher doses for a bit, Cutler protocol be damned!😏 ...I want my luscious hair & soft, silky skin back. 😔 Collagen supp does seem to be making improvements in that, and I wonder if more zinc would amplify any improvements. Hmm...)

The zinc I take is Integrative Therapeutics zinc carnosine PepZin GI brand. It has 16 mg of zinc as zinc carnosine and 74 mg of zinc carnosine in their PepZin GI brand formula. She has me on just one a day for maintenance. I think I was on two a day at the beginning. The only change I’ve noticed with my hair is I have a lot of new growth on my crown.

This is an excellent KZbin presentation. The medical industrial complex's failure to properly research and diagnose and treat diet and microbiome and sleep and vital deficiency issues (including those related to Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 and Magnesium and Zinc and fiber deficiencies as well as iatrogenic prescription medication usage) is a major reason why psychiatric iatrogenesis is a primary contributor to the third leading cause of death in the U.S. (which is iatrogenesis in general). If the U.S. spent just a fraction of the over $40 billion each year it spends just on iatrogenic psychiatric drugs alone, for properly researching the issues discussed in this and related KZbin presentations we would probably, Lord willing, achieve an absolute revolution in medical efficacy improvement and iatrogenesis reduction. Oh god I'm glad I found this. I've been going through some panic attacks after I noticed the hair in the crown of my head thinning out a bit. I noticed it wasn't growing as fast as it used to. No one in my family has ever had a history of that. I've been fasting 3 to 4 times a day while keeping my 5 days a week training the same. Also, I heard that too frequent ejaculation can cause zink deficiency and other nutrient deficiency as well. I'm glad I found this information.

Remember to take zinc in the MIDDLE of a BIG meal or the common side effect of extreme nausea may occur. Otherwise, one could have flu-like symptoms for hours. Zinc causes the same well-known side-effect on workers, when they are welding/torch cutting on galvanized steel. The galvanized is a zinc coating on steel to prevent rusting. The welding/torch cutting operation vaporizes the zinc coating. The inhalation of the zinc vapors will cause the same flu-like, nausea symptoms.

Since I had Thyroid surgery back in 1986, when I turned 20, I've been hyperconscous about nutrition. After they removed my body's metabolism control mechanism/Thyroid, I've had issues with everything, not the least being libido. So I've been trying to correct this with supplemental zinc and eating oysters when I can find them at the 99 cent store. It really does help, but my hormones never seem to get balanced, and are either too high or too low, since taking them orally does not effectively duplicate normal biological rhythms. It feels like I'm constantly rolling dice, to try to get on track with balancing bodily functions. But I feel like I hit the jack pot when it all comes together, and I feel normal. But I appreciate the information you put out about Zinc, it's kinda been the main focus for me, since physical fitness has always been important to me, as well as a healthy libido. 💪🏼😆✌🏼🌎☀️⚡🔥💎

Thank you so much for this highly informative and easily understood video! I have been seeing a Functional Doctor and have quite severe zinc deficiency after getting covid last July while working in the US. I have all of the symptoms you've listed but additionally, not just the loss of taste but also a different sense of smell. Certain foods smell absolutely putrid to me now, raw chicken is a particular offender! I'm curious if the sense of smell is also zinc or may be a different deficiency? In order for food to taste like anything other than cardboard I need to add absolutely huge amounts of different herbs: thyme, rosemary, garlic, mint etc. I've had IV's for zinc as well as other vitamins and minerals that were severely depleted due to covid, including 600,000iu injections for vitamin D3, iron IV's and more. But levels are very slow to improve. In terms of over-the-counter zinc supplements, can you recommend any specific types/ brands? Now that I have truly learned the importance of vitamins and minerals first-hand, I really want to alert friend and family about the importance of supplementation and keeping a check on labs. Any suggestions would be so appreciated! They would need to ship to Australia and ideally also the US as I have friend's there (I'm back home now in Aus). Thank you again.

it's important to note that candida overgrowth can lead to zinc deficiency even if you're supplementing or consuming a proper diet of whole foods. Candida "eats" zinc, b-vitamins, sugar, magnesium, calcium... and consuming processed foods & supplements that feed candida feed the problem.

@@simoneambroise9128 You could follow an anti-inflammatory diet or Candida cleanse diet, starving the fungus, while taking supplements that kill it at the same time while nourishing your body. It can be done and if you can find a Naturopathic or Functional/Integrative Medicine Doctor or Ayurvedic practitioner to help, even better 🙏 There's a Dr. Kroger Candida cleanse supplement you can get I would recommend. It worked for a friend who had terrible symptoms from candida overgrowth in her liver. It's an inexpensive price if you're interested. 💖

Supplementing Zinc without Copper will cause serious health issues - low blood count Anemia, muscle weakness / fatigue, feeling cold, white / grey hair snd serious intestinal problems along with double vision - ALWAYS take 1 mg Copper for every 7 mg Zinc - a good rule is 2mg copper with 15 mg Zinc...

You have to be very careful taking zinc. 50 MG is probably the cut off. I was taking zinc probably more than 50 MG a day but not more than a 100mg one night my kidney started hurting and then it went into my stomach and my upper chest and I was in pain. I paced up an down the floor and it lasted for about two hours., then about 2or3 days latter it hit me again. It started in my stomach and it felt like it was in my liver and my kidney again and I got where it was hard to breath and my skin got clamy and it lasted for at least 3 hours.. I thought I was going to die. After that I started thinking what did I eat or vitamins I took and I realized I was taking more zinc in different vitamins I have. Cause I heard thT it was good to take them when I quit I never a the problem any more
