Hey, Keith. I love everything about this cabinet. IMO, it's far too beautiful to be a wood storage cabinet, but it's attractive and extremely creative. I'm sure that it will garner a nonending stream of compliments. BTW, the leather is a stroke of genius! Thanks for the video. Your work is always a breath of fresh air.

It's fine, personally I would have made an angled cabinet but it's functional and quirky. Can I offer you a tip for cleaning up glue squeeze out, of which you seem to get alot? Get a box of plastic drinking straws, they will last you a lifetime. Take a straw and slice the end at 45°, you can then slide the pointed tip in the corner of your joint and as you slide it along the excess glue disappears up the straw, simply keep a cloth in your had and periodically squeeze ths straw between your fingers a couple of inches from the end and slide your fingers to the tip, excess glue ends up in cloth or shop towel you are holding over the end. Just keep using the cut end to clean up more squeeze out. If you empty it at the end of your clean up it will last along time. When it gets too manky just cut off the last inch or two and go again. I do this every day and must have cleaned up miles of joints in my life using this method. Try it, works like a charm.

Nice build Keith. I think I'd have painted the inside of the doors too but it still looks good. As others have said, it will be worth fixing it to the wall just in case. My daughter had a freestanding wardrobe tip onto her once. Fortunately the room.was narrow at that point so it hit the opposite wall first Ever since then I have been fixing every tall cabinet to the wall :)

Love it! So many small touches and it all comes together beautifully. I’m going to be that person right now, though. I would seriously consider attaching the cabinet to the wall. I know it’s heavy but my kids managed to pull a heavy dresser down on themselves while trying to climb it. Thankfully they were unharmed (and I probably looked like the Incredible Hulk pulling it up off them) but it was scary as shit and no other parent wants to feel that fear. We call them earthquake straps here in California but I’m sure your local hardware store has something similar.

Great result Keith, that's certainly more interesting than a simple painted box, so you hit the brief.I particularly like the slatted shelves, you did well in selecting enough pieces that matched and they look beautiful with just the Tung oil finish, once again you have shown that using second hand materials is not only good for the planet but results in a superior product that you probably wouldn't justify buying otherwise ! Half way through I'm thinking "but what about the other shelf, I'm sure there were three". I'm on the fence with the leather finish I neither dislike or particularly think it adds to the piece, although the contrast works, I hope the cats don't scratch the lower panel. Micky's descent was epic !

As a professional cabinet maker I think it’s a great design 👍 Very cool mid century “vibes”. Love the idea of the leather - but without sounding negative because I think it’s a great little touch - I think something in a more earthy brown/burnt orange/ochre kind of colour would have been amazing. But obviously you were using what you had so I think it’s a great piece of furniture 👌👌 Lots of ideas to take away from this video.

Nice one Keith, overall a great build the Leather Doors were a good idea along with the Black Handles for the doors, however, there is only one thing i would change and i think you might know this as well and that is the spring in that top door, i just think there's too much of a Spring when opened and that flippin' Noise when opened and closed, but hey that's just me but i do love the build but make that one change.
