Here I am revisiting this video, years later. The info and especially the links you provided were very useful. Are you still using this setup?

Very speedy construction. I do that time guessing thing to impress my girl friend and often get it right within a few minutes.

Good video, as usual! Can you advise on the mineral oil you used, please?
@masterserge15 сағат бұрын
You could improve it slightly more by using smooth pipe runs instead of the ridged pipes. The ridges in pipes cause turbulence which reduces air flow.

Brilliant - and all for just your time and fittings you had already. I look forward to seeing how you use the rest. Happy Christmas to you, the family and, of course, the cats.

Not a massive fan of the “Muzak” as it’s a bit distracting. Sounds of the workshop will do for me

That's the way it's done. Wonderful idea. I love to see (& make) projects from recycled materials. Freecycle is a great source of old oak and pine furniture. I'm always upfront that I intend to re-purpose old furniture and don't take anything that I think others would find really useful, but for tatty old furniture that people just want gone, it's a great way of saving it from landfill. Most people are just happy to know that it's being put to good use. I've even sent photos to a few people to show what their old table or chest of draws transformed into.

Using double sided tape for this is WILD! But I’m glad it worked out, I’d be interested to see how it has held up next year. I don’t like trusting it enough for router templates but I’m trying to get used to it haha. The pots are a cool design, thanks for the video and have a lovely christmas 😊

I think you might need to watch the video again. I didn't use any double sided tape

I made some elliptical shelves an had a similar problem attaching them to the walls. I ended up cutting a tiny mortise into the back of the shelf (using a domino), and then shaping it with a chisel into a tiny blind French cleat. I the attached a slim wooden hidden French cleat to the wall and put the shelf over it. It holds really well

The problem in the UK now is most skilled trades have retired and the trainers are probably dead. Ive been sent on various appointed/ competent person courses to find i end up teaching the trainers. Sometimes you get an old boy dragged out of retirement who teaches the real world skills that contrdict the "get a certificate" impractical way to do things.

I inherited a similar centrifugal fan that had been used before the cyclone, and it took a week of chipping and sanding the built up debris from the blades to get them back into an efficient and balanced state again. For the sake of the 1.8cfm gain, it is better to have zero maintenance blades for decades, and zero shutdowns to replace bearings etc every couple of years, and that's without even factoring in the excess noise that creeps in when unbalanced.

But what sort of brand is that Ruthlnds anyway? Certainly they don’t have producing capacity to make all those tools. I have a small, silent Ruthlnds air compressor, that looks every little bit like a Hitachi one. The difference is only in colour. So - obviously this is a licensed thing. And how about the other tools they offer? About Mirka - it is simply amazing. The comfort, the operation, the sanding, the dust collection. We have the venerable Mirka Ceros in the Worksop for 15 years. It is just unbelievable the amount of workload and abuse this thing has endured through those years…

Great project for baby browns room. Have you ever trip the tape trick trick when hanging things with those key holes or d rings? Attach the fastner as you normally would. Then stretch a piece of tape across the 2 of them. Mark with pen, marker, etc on the tape when the fastners are. Then stick the tape to the wall where you want to hang it. Mark wall through tape where fastners are.

Cette approche créative pour économiser à la fois de l'argent et du bois est géniale ! C'est incroyable de voir comment on peut transformer des matériaux simples en objets aussi stylés et pratiques. Un vrai défi pour ceux qui aiment bricoler !

I love when old bits of furniture and other pieces of timber can be repurposed. A beautiful addition to the kids room. 👍🏻 My favourite channel for this is 'Epic Recycling', unbelievable craftsman, just shows you what can be done with "scrap".

Thanks Keith, Hmm, I'm not sure on the timber, I think you're right in suspecting there may be more than one species though. An imaginative re-use of the "waste" timber anyway, and it looked as if your new workshop layout was helping with the workflow as expected ! Have a great Christmas I'm sure you're going to have a lot of fun with Brown Jr and the rest of Clan Brown !

Does the masking tape where you drill help to reduce plaster blow out (where surface layer gives way) or is that just my walls?

TIP: Use masking tape to take a measurement for the hangers on the piece. Transfer tape and markings to wall. More accurate than a measurement
