My technique is learning new vocabulary throw sentences not just word by word, and then writing down the sentences more and more, then day by day revise the previous sentences and learn new sentences. Always learning throw sentences and phrases, I am currently learning Turkish, Persian, Arabic, Spanish, and for the future French. I can speak and write English. My mother tongue is Kurdish. Thanks Greg.

I learn one new word in English and Google it for its meaning..then I write down a passage based on my one day experience and use this new word at the time it needed. Then read it and again read the passage on the next morning.

I use the skills of memory. First day, you discover the words, the day after, you read them again, in sentences for instance. Then 3 days later. To finish, 1 week later. it's a technic of neurosciences. For long lessons, never more than 25 minutes in activ mind, then you have a shower or what else, and in that time, your mind is working again ! in order to integrate notions. It' incredible

There are some words that are difficult to remember when speaking and what I do is make an association with another simple word, for example, in Spain: remolacha and then, I think of bote (boat) that has remos (oars) then, bote, remos, remolacha. It's because I come from Chile and there we call it beterragas. Thank you very much Greg.

Hello Grégoire My technique is to record myself on my mobile.. first I say a sentence in my native language using the new word... and a few minute later I say it in English. So when I listen to my recording I have enough time to translate the sentence in English before hearing my own voice translating it on the recording. Also I can listen to my recordings as often as I want... until I am able to translate all the sentences without hesitation ... In addition I use the notebook on my mobile to write down all the new words I come across ... and I revise them whenever I can...on the bus in a waiting room or wherever ..

To enable me learn and retain a new word in my memory, I gets a cardboard and write the new word on one side of my cardboard, and the meaning of the new word on the other side of the same cardboard, so when I look at the word, I attempt to remember its meaning without looking at the meaning side and only turn it over to the meaning side for verification to know if I'm right or not.

Correction: You are English teacher ...aren't you? The school teacher must have a broad minded & well oriented person. #1. He knows the individual mental capacity of his learners such as fast learner, moderate learner ,& slow learner. Fast learner are individual whose mental capacity can grasp the learning very quick ( memorization) Moderate can memorize the average ones that exactly grasp their ability of memorization rating of 80 to 85 mental capacity Slow learner are learners that needs a lot of boar work exercises to meet their goal of success. So your prediction of learning to memorize the words through phonics & synonyms as quickly as you wish...the answer is failure!!!!
