best thing to do is to give him no rest of defense, block him from 3 sides and he would have to shoot (it will end up as a corner or deflect off a Defender) or pass backwards. In a 1v1, delay him and not rush to attack him, try to keep back and force him to the corner, and don't be scared. (these are my suggestions, good luck to whoever who try them against Messi or his incarnate XD)
