Well done Dave. A little background in my case. I have been working with Window's since Version 3.0 (yeah I am old). I have obtained my MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) and my MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer) along with at least 13 other certifications, my point is I know of what I speak. You are very good at this...if you do not have your certs, get after em I think you would make a great MCT...I have hired a lot of them less talented than you are. Just thought I would toss that out there. I came here because of a crazy issue I am having with a Bluetooth Audio issue that has stumped me. Oh...with your MCSE and MCT (not sure what they are called now a days) you can make a VERY comfortable living, if your good at it, and you seem to be. Good luck.. and well done.

my problem usually is that I do now know what drivers I need. Its so unnecessarily complicated to get a system started. I wish manufacturers would just have a single software that lets you choose your product and have that software download and install everything. Like an Intel software that I just open up, select my i7-8700k and fire away, then one from MSi which I open up, select the Z370 and have it automatically install everything I need. Nvidia has that with Geforce experience I guess, but GPU drivers are simple enough already. I guess half my drivers if not all are outdated by now, but theres no way you would manually check every few weeks and check for any updates. Too bad driver updaters are bad apparently, they sound good.

There's been a lot of postings on Norton regarding being leery when it states it found obsolete drivers and letting Norton install updates. People have stated cases of Norton's driver update making their devices unusable. I was always checking the Device Manager whenever Norton stated that and Device Manager said the latest driver was installed when Norton stated the opposite.

A driver was installed that is causing issues but I don't have a rollback button, so im attempting to "update" it to the old driver i had via the Microsoft Update Catalog method, but it will not install it saying "The best drivers for your device are already installed". Thanks to you. I mean it. It took me 3 full days to figure out what was wrong with my windows 10 update from 8.1. I came to know it were the graphic drivers which created the problems, but wasn't able to fix it by traditional updating and from AMD website. I finally was successfull by going through your steps in which you asked to go to laptop's manufacturer's website. I downloaded the given driver graphics and that fixed my problem. Thanks again. :)

Before seeing this vid, I purchased DRIVERFIX. BIG mistake. It will NOT automatically download and install the updates it finds that need updating. That cost extra that they do not disclose anywhere before the plan purchase. So called 24/7 tech TOOK 24 hours to respond. Had to use Revo-unistaller (free) to dig it out of my system after cancelling plan (To get the refund, it must PROVE you uninstalled ALL of it). Thanks for this video.

Are you familiar with the no charge issues for HP LAPTOPS? I just bought a new battery and my laptop only works with the charger plugged in. I think I deleted some drivers or something from my laptop or something. I don't know what I did, but on my battery icon it says "84% available (plugged in)". Third party driver update software, does not do the same job as Windows Update. They will typically find more driver updates than Windows Update does, as they all have their own database of drivers, which will usually much bigger than Microsoft's one. It's important to note that no third party driver update tool has ever contained malware. I know this as I've tested pretty much every driver update tool published since 2004, when the first driver updaters were released. One thing you missed about Windows Update is optional driver updates. Quite often there will be some driver updates that are listed as optional updates and won't be installed along with the regular Windows Updates. Quite often, but not always, you can find drivers for devices which have no driver installed, or only a generic Microsoft one, rather than the proper OEM one.

this really didnt help me cause my computer was bought as a custom prebuild and as sad as it is it did come with all the software but blue screened dude to a graphics problem and wouldn't let me back into windows at all, the only way it would let me in was if i reinstalled windows now the issue that gave me is it uninstalled all my programs that were pre installed. now when ever i install any of the drivers i need to update it it blue screens before it can finish.... so when people say an easy way i think they mean a program that can do the manual installs automatically but knows which to install first to stop the blue screen problem

Hi Dave, brill "lesson, but I have a desktop with tower that was made for me, the driver from what I see is one of those ACPI x 64 something, how on earth do I update that driver, the only game I play on my pc is elevenar and it gets stuck and tells me I need to "update my hardware acceleration which I have done and nothing happens. I think the driver has been in since 2006 or that is what the date shows me in the device manager

Hello Dave... in the begging u warn about driver updater softwares... I have some beef with my friend, where he is match better in IT than me and he saying that Driver Booster from company IObit is necessary as windows is not able to find really newest updates on it self. Point is to install that updater soft, make all stuffs update by free version and than uninstall the IObit driver booster and also not purchace anything there. What do you think about this strategy... I can confirm, that that soft really find out quiet a lot of drivers even the windows sayin that everything is up to date. Iam sceptical, but I also trust him IT abillities... what do you think about it?

A tutorial says to go into repair and that way to type Clean in the command propt.. when I get to the UEF1 box it says Restart and I cant get to enter the command prompt anywhere.. Why when I press my back button, instead of going to the previous screen. I get a small box in the upper left hand corner that I can play the last video I watched.
