Breastfeeding is SO incredibly difficult. The first 2 weeks are like fight or flight. People who don’t breastfeed don’t understand but you should be so proud because it’s not easy!! So happy for your little family! ❤

Me and my husband would have a talk every night about anything that hurt us or made us upset that day (mostly while doing bedtime feeding). Just to communicate because it’s soooooo easy to just not communicate or have time to not talk. It really doesn’t last forever, it gets better. As long as you both know when to step back, that’s good. We had a word we used also for whenever we felt we were feeling bad by what the other did or said. Like a code word. That helped flag things out loud for us. Congrats and you’re both doing great ❤

I am so incredibly proud of you! You are doing such a great job. You created, and birthed a whole human baby inside of you. And you're continuing to do an awesome job now. I would always say to my husband, I have no idea how single parents do it. We struggled the two of us on our own. Keep up the great work hun! You rock!

This was one of the best postpartum videos I have watched. I'm a mom of 2 and I wish someone had said what you said about breastfeeding with my first. It is not easy and your mindset about feeding is awesome. You kept it real but optimistic. Hugs and remember recovery is not always on an increased line but it sounds like you have a great support system and mindset.

Breastfeeding gets so much easier, I promise! The leaking will stop, your supply will regulate soon, and you will feel probably feel more like yourself. We got down to 2 feeds and my daughter weaned herself at 14 months old.

Perspective: everyone's is different. What works for one, doesn't work for another. Thank you for sharing your journey so far. I had no interest when my son was born...but again....everyone is different. I had post partum depression for other reasons...but that too also passed. Continued love and hugs!

Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us. I’m about to be in your shoes and I’m very nervous for how it will go. It is so nice to hear stories that are “normal”. I feel like there are so many horrific stories that people share. While I know it is real and women can go through a range of things, it is nice to hear that it is not always 100/10 the worst of the worst. Hearing from you and other moms I know in my life the common thing I hear is just the first bit of time just crying for “no reason” or feeling like you’re not doing enough. Having that in the back of my mind that I’m not crazy and other people feel exactly the same i think will be helpful to just keep me going. You’re doing amazing and the fact you are putting up videos everyday is just incredible. Thank you!

Breast feeding is a full time job. On top of hormones leaving your body and trying to adjust back. And now you have a baby which is 2.5 full time jobs. And youre purely in survival mode. And its even a bigger adjustment if you have not had much experience with a baby prior

Thanks for sharing your journey. Breastfeeding all three of my children was different each time, but equally and similarly challenging. I'm so glad to hear you're feeling like you're climbing out of the trenches. Those times are so real and can be so rough. I'm so happy to hear about the support system you have and that Jarvis can be home to help on leave. You're doing incredible! I remember during times of heightened post partum depression or anxiety, I'd look down at my precious baby and feel so greatful. Your body made a person! She will grow up to be full of light, love, and being a mom is the greatest gift. Sending you and Jarvis love from the Carolinas.

Thank you for sharing your journey!! You’re the first person I’ve seen on social media explain as good as you did and let other moms know you’re not here to judge! I had a really hard time trying to breastfeed…first I had really low iron coming home from the hospital, which makes you feel 10 times worse! Then my boyfriend was only home for the first week, he works off and doesn’t know where he will be going most of the time or when he will come back home. With all of that going on it was really tough. I tried my hardest sticking it on with breastfeeding. Then I knew I would be judged if I stopped. Well after lots of crying, thinking, talking to other moms, talking with mine and my baby’s doctors. After 3 weeks we decided to go to formula. I kept telling myself that I not only need my mental health to be good for me but for my baby also! it was a hard switch but sadly needed to happen and I just had to let the judgment not bother me. I knew we were taking good care of our baby and that’s all that mattered. Also with everything going on I wasn’t getting any milk from pumping literally just was I was leaking so my baby wasn’t getting enough. You all are doing amazing! I absolutely love coming to watch your videos! I pray everything keeps going well for your family.Just remember to tell yourself (as well as your husband) y’all are doing great and you both know what is best not anyone else!! 🫶🫶

Breast feeding is so different with each kid. My second ended up have tongue and lip ties so I exclusively pumped for 11 months. I had to wear nursing pads for most all of my breastfeeding journeys with both kids. Hoping it's a smooth transition for baby 3 coming in a few weeks

Thanks so much for sharing your story! Im due next month so have been folllowing along with your journey. Totally agree with you about just being prepared for worst case scenarios and learning to just go with the flow. I'm an ICU nurse and have taken care of critical OB patients and sometimes those worst case scenarios can just mess with your head Are you able to make a video about baby essentials you actually used?

I had an emergency C-section with my first and a voluntary one with my second and it gives you a sense of control as well as for me the recovery was nice. I also tried breastfeeding and it didn’t work for either baby. I felt the same for me but releasing myself from that hold of feeling I absolutely had to do it because others do and others said it was necessary. I ended up stopping and spending time bonding instead of battling myself to do something my body wasn’t doing naturally. Keep going if you choose but don’t think it changes the bond! Happy holidays

I remember when you showed the disposable leak pads and thinking maybe I should tell you they would last about a week. It’s so hard to even contemplate how much extra fluid will just keep flowing during the day. I’m glad you did this video. When girls romanticize breastfeeding and motherhood they think they are doing something wrong or failing when the reality set in. Hopefully they see this

Omg breastfeeding my first son was horrible and so time consuming and stressful and no idea if I was doing it right. Eventually it got easier and better and now with the 2nd baby it was a breeze especially knowing what to expect now. But I definitely cannot wait to stop breastfeeding which I did around 17 months with the first one and hope to do again with my 8 month old now.

With my first I had a huge over supply but was scared to pump incase it would make me make even more milk, and because of that I ended up with mastitis in the hospital away from my 2week old and it was traumatic for me. This time around with my second I still have an over supply, i pump this time around for the relief and I’m still leaking constantly up till two weeks ago when she turned 7weeks. I hope it will get better for you too but you’re doing an amazing job and Luna is so lucky to have you! Congratulations!

I've talked to 5 different doctors about breastfeeding and bottle feeding and they all said that you should do that for a year because it has brain development nutrition in it that they need for the first year of their life. My aunt wanted to stop when her kids were about 4 months old when food was introduced to her kids and she asked the doctor can she stop breastfeeding also and the doctor told her not to. That she should include it with the baby food with the breast milk.

If you don't end up using the breast milk that you froze, you can donate it. 100% donate it. You can do a Google search of your area for places/people that are accepting breast milk donations. There are many MANY women who can't breast feed, whether it's due to physical reasons or because they adopted or used a surrogate, therefore don't have the supply to give. There's always someone that could use it. It's awesome that you're able to produce so much milk. I can't imagine the discomfort from it though. It's been 13 years since I've had a baby. Lol. But, we'll be welcoming my first grandbaby this Summer. 🥰

Aw god i lm actually like a baby myself with the bf, i get so irritable and agitated when im tired and thats without a baby so I imagine that's perfectly normal...try to laugh about it instead...or cry...and then laugh BUT always laugh plus it makes u feel better and lifts ur mood ❤

Breastfeeding is not easy at all but so rewarding. With my oldest daughter I didn't produce enough milk and was heart broken. With my other daughter I had more than enough. My youngest daughter is now on her breastfeeding journey and it was rough in the beginning. Hot packs help with engorged breasts.
@gracediehm7568 Жыл бұрын
Breastfeeding can be so mentally draining! Your body will eventually create a schedule and produce the correct amount of milk and the leaking will stop lol. I would recommend keeping up on trying a bottle because it is so nice when you can get a break from feeding and it includes the father. I always say my biggest mistake was not giving my daughter a bottle and not including her father more.

I literally almost died and my baby almost didn't make it during delivery. A week later I had to get rushed over an hour away to another state and hospital for an emergency surgery. Had I not gone into the emergency room when I did I would have died. Will I have another baby. Nope. It was very traumatic. I'm so blessed me and my baby are here. I was on bed rest for 2 months. Normal physical activity at 15 weeks.

I decided not to breastfeed. My daughter was born in 1974. I received a shot to dry me up. That still took 5 days of engorgement! Back then there was no stigma about bottle feeding. Looking back, I wish I had tried, for the immunities. But my daughter was a healthy, happy baby who will turn 50 in March! It was a vaginal birth. She weighed 9 lbs. I only had one child!😂 Where does the time go?

Sounds like we had a similar birth story. ; my daughter was born on Nov 11 2018. I went to 40 weeks and i hadnt gone into labor yet so they scheduled me to be induced i was induced at 41.weeks. i was given the meds the night before... i hadnt had any contractions.. i slept normally. I went in at 8am in the hospital to check In ; they checked me.. i was moved to my bed in a room.. i was hooked up to the monitor. I had high blood pressure aswell.. and i had my FiRST contraction and i guess when that contraction happened my babies heart rate dropped and mine did too..they rushed me for a c section then.. the only part that was uncomfortable was when they like kinda squish down your belly to get the fluid out and that hurt.. but after it i took NO pain meds. They sent me home with a morphine script i didnt take any.. i healed up prerrt quick. Its 5 years now and i cant even see a scar. I couldnt breastfeed. My milk dried up within a few weeks.

I am starting to think it’s something wrong with the system. Everyone this year is getting C-sections because of blood pressure. Thank god everything came out good. 🙏 I had two C-sections. One was emergency the second was planned. Even if you feel like you can do it all DONT. You will mess up ur insides and back. You have a village that’s always amazing.
