2.5 inch wide 4"x6" angle iron. Half inch thick!
6 Welding squares for less than $20. I had this heavy piece of angle left over from a project kicking around for a couple years. My local metal supplier sells me steel by the pound and this piece would have been under $20. I have been wanting more squares and they have been too expensive for the little I would use them.
This angle was very close to true 90 with only a little sanding and grinding to bring it into spec. You will see I made 2 of these a little narrower for smaller jobs and I cut the inside rounded corner out to make it true inside as well.
A few tools used in this project I will link below. I want to shout out to Olson saw blades. I bought this king bandsaw over 6 years ago and I broke the 2 blades that came with it new in the first week. After a bunch of research and reading a lot of reviews I bought 3x 64.5" @14 TPI Bi-Metal blades and only put the 3rd blade on during this job. 3 years for 3 blades!

Never ASSUME angle is always exactly 90 degrees. Most of the time its over just enough to be a pain.

My thought also - I would have milled the two faces square - relying on the accuracy of my mill - not perfect, but probably within a reasonable tolerance. But, having and using a mill would probably defeat the intent of the video - low cost, easy to make "squares".

I never found a piece of angle that was Square enough without Milling the right angle

Agreed! Easy enough to clamp it to the lathe cross-slide and use a fly-cutter if no mill in the workshop, but uncorrected angle-iron on its own is blatant over-optimism!

If you would have bandsawed the angle with the corner up it would have cut faster and probably more accurately depending on the blade you were using.

I was happy with the accuracy. It would definitely cut faster corner up.

I was not sure how it was going to cut best in the machine (position) so I fully marked it. Also to find out how true the cut ended up.

This piece is the squarest piece I have seen. It still took a little time on the belt sander.

Why did you bother marking this angle when you can't even see the marks when cutting the angle it was completely stupid?
