Bhai Tarserm Singh is a great gursikh. Remember when he first developed Sikhitothemax and he used to bring his laptop to rainsbais - what an incredible algorithm (first letter from each word) has helped so many connect with Gurbani. He mentions Bhai Nirmal Singh who also inspired a lot of Sikhs 💔

Could you ask bhai sahib clarify what he said at the end of the video of it being very difficult to do katha without it being tainted by sampradai soch? I'm not familiar with that term and I was not able to understand what he meant.
@BasicsofsikhiTV3 жыл бұрын
Here is a response from Bhai sahib ji clarifying this point ji: ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕਾਖ਼ਾਲਸਾਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂਜੀਕੀਫ਼ਤਹਿ The comment was in reference to Ekta of the Panth and how we can sometimes give a message to the Sangat that is more in line with our own specific interpretation, or that of our Sampardha or section of the Panth that we associate more with (e.g. Nanaksar, Damdami Taksal, Missionary College, Akhand Kirtani Jatha, Nihang etc). So for instance if we are doing Katha on a topic like meeting Vaheguru, we can drive through about how we can meet Vaheguru through different ways. 1) Guru Jee's Shabad 2) Expansion of the Shabad through Bhai Gurdas Jee's writings or Bhai Nand Laal Jee 3) Further expand through Sikh history and Sakhis from Guru Jee's times 4) Rehatnamas and other instructions given to the Panth 5) Sikh personalities from history and from Sampardhas (sections in the Panth) 6) Personal experience The point was based around if we want to have Ekta and find Gunn or virtues in everyone, Katha should not be used as an instrument for my own, or my Sampardha's promotion. There is nothing wrong with mentioning a view from a specific Sampardha, but it should not be done in a way that is hurtful, egotistic or aimed at marginalising an accepted part of the Panth. A great example for everyone in the Panth of non-bias in Katha is Giani Pinderpal Singh Jee. Always find his approach to Katha all-inclusive, Panthic and aiming for everyone to take away something positive that they can relate to. Hope that makes sense, and please forgive any mistakes in the video.

@@BasicsofsikhiTV Thank you so much for taking the time. Very beautiful explanation, I agree with it 100%. Always felt Jagraj Singh ji emanated the attitude of ekta and helping ppl connect with Guru ji, rather than promoting any specific school of thought. While still respecting each group. Not easy to do! WJKKWJKF
@x-s60023 жыл бұрын
@universal truth I would argue the word sect is too strong. More like different schools of thought. All still fall under the umbrella that is Khalsa Panth. Namdharis and radaswamis are more sect like however. They have fundamentally different beliefs I think. But I'm not knowledgeable enough to really answer. Hopefully you find what your looking for.
@x-s60023 жыл бұрын
@universal truth no thats incorrect. Those are two different words. Sect, from merriam webster "a dissenting or schismatic religious body especially : one regarded as extreme or heretical" Namdhari and rhadaswamis dont believe Guru Granth as the final eternal Guru. Thus Khalsa panth does not accept them as their own. Categorizing things and having a defined organization structure does not imply creating division. Thats like saying Guru Nanak is creating division within santan dharma by not worshipping idols, when in reality Guru Nanak made his own panth.
