$60 DOUBLE DIN STEREO From WISH Install & Review (ACTUALLY GOOD!)

It's been a few days since i've installed this, and i'd like to give some experience pro's and con's! Pros: - Bluetooth music starts instantly as the device turns on. - Bluetooth music sound quality and phenomenal - The sound this thing puts out to the speakers, again is phenomenal - It works pretty quickly, and barely any lag through the UI or bluetooth Cons: - iPhone's do not work through USB due to Mirrorlink - No dimmer, a little awkward at night time - Will not fit your dash kit, have to jank it in somehow and will not look clean Honestly for $60, this has been something that literally makes me want to go for a drive and play with it. I'm blown away by the sound, which is the main focus and i'm sure all the multimedia and such works great!

On the latest version, 2023, you go into iPhone settings and turn on debugging mode. I've just bought this radio for my son's vehicle and had no issue connecting my iPhone. It connected without my having to do anything. You might look at an update as the interface on yours is different than mine though appears to be the same radio model. Has a pretty awesome EQ. Great vid!

Don't use this actual stereo as a reference, the only thing to take from this is the wiring harness, dash kit and how to wire. Anything further is a meme 😂

Same here I hooked up the red and yellow wire to get power. Somehow it doesn't save the settings this way. 5/11/24

You could just buy the cable converter available for any vehicle. I had to buy the converter because my French car defaults to French and metric anytime you disconnect the battery so you have to re-plug in the original to change language etc.

You have to use a good quality cord like the one that came with the phone that allows data transfer not just charging. Have mirroring on and set the radio to 4 pin usb. 6 pin Is for Android

As long as your head unit properly runs apple car play and you have Waze downloaded then it will work.

I got this radio from ebay for $45, its good but now I want my steering wheel controls back and Android play, waze. Also looking for better sound quality. I don't like that it only has 2 brightness settings, its kinda lags at times. But you get what you pay for.

I installed an Android auto stereo in my 3 about a year ago, but hated how I had to look down to see the maps so I got rid of it. I'm really tempted to get this Dual Electronics DMCPA11BT with a 10 inch screen, but I'm not so sure about it since the vents will be blocked and it'll look ridiculous

I have the 7018b, it's more convenient to just use a small USB for music than using a phone (Though adding new music can be annoying). Volume knob seems weird, its inconsistent. From volume 5-15 it goes up nicely, from 5-25 it barely goes louder, from 25-30 it goes louder and so on. Quality isnt the greatest, 60w x4 is actually 40w x4, checked mosfet i side. For the 45w x4 version, its correct. Ive installed a 12'' subwoofer with it. That also has the weird volume increase thing, but it seems the RCA-s dont put out a lot of volts, so you'd have to increase the gains on external amplifier. Also it distorts the speakers easily (I use the HU to power front speakers - Hertz 45w rms) maybe cuz i have the loudness on.

You've walked into a Mazda 3 channel, what do you honestly think we'll say 😏 but just check vehicle specs and take them for a drive. It's really a personal choice in terms of feel and style. Were not trying to go street racing with no turbos, it's why we inch towards MPS/Speed3/6 given proper resources or we work towards it.

Anything that's not Amazon or eBay branded haha, name brands like Alpine, Pioneer, JVC etc will fit in the dash kits :)

To add to this, I've been checking retails stores and giving things "deep consideration" and feigning interest in the higher priced ones to keep them hovering and stroke my chin sagely and say I'll sleep on it and make a decision tomorrow 😜, asking questions so I know what to look for size wise and what will fit snuggly to a double din face, from there it's mostly sound quality and screen response, check online for product reviews and features like using maps / 3rd party phone app maps (radars etc) and can you easily stream music whilst using other functions. Just remember mid-range and under, don't really come with "amps" so if you've got heavy aftermarket speakers, you'll still want to get an appropriate amp to utilize them

I put an Eonon 9463b in my gen2 2.5 GT hatch along with a Carlinkit wireless CarPlay dongle. I works really well and fills the whole original head unit space with touch screen goodness. Highly recommended 👍🏻. So nice to just keep my phone in my pocket and not have to plug in and disconnect all the time.

I have the alpine ilx-w650 in a gen 2 Mazda and with a dash kit it's fantastic. Iv never loved a head unit more and works with apple car play and android auto.

Now I've been putting my ocd / add brain to the wiring process, for those that don't have sleeves and a heat gun (or pocket lighter) you can get wiring butts / connectors that just clip together for effortless electric connections which don't require a sleeve as they generally have one ready to go or don't need it all together. I've never touched a solder so I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it that way. And the twist and sleeve... Those jutty bits would irk me, but Colton knows that's me just being anal, if you're on a budget build / beater build with limited resources, as the big dog said, his way works totally fine 😆 can't wait to see how this'll handle the double 14" sub install champ 😜

And post thought, remember this is a wish budget screen, please don't compare this to high cost main stream branding. Nor is this car actually to get big money put in areas that aren't too important 🙂 it served it's purpose but if you're looking for Pioneer/Sony etc flagship quality... Start saving, there's generally not many short cuts if you want your stereo area flush and great quality across everything.
