Riding that long in those conditions is pretty wild, and was certainly worthy of that record. Not to mention that anyone who has used woo enough knows there is enough luck involved that those 35's could all be the actual word record with the right read... you'll get there for sure!

@@marcel6880 it's hard to beat the woo community and apps maps/leaderboards, but it does seem like surfr is a bit more consistent... that said I seem to lose my surfr sessions half the time so go figure

@@jasonofmontreal yes woo community is big but reputation not super good. Also I think surfr is taking over especially with the standalone watch apps they now offer. I have been a serious woo user but dont think it has much future tbh. Btw never lost a surfr session myself, so cant comment on that but thats weird for sure

Chase! Crushed it man! Your dad is a legend. Thanks for sharing the mental side of what this takes. You explaining the paradox of jumping being simple really resonated with me. I think we all have that, ie. we know we have the ability on how to execute but all your senses are telling you to not do it. Btw, check out rooster rock in Columbia gorge for crazy potential - we get days that are 80knots several times a year during fall & winter.

Great video! They seem to be getting better, one at a time. Really liked how you filmed your emotional process, going from anxiety to frustration, to joy. When you are kiting at the extreme, the mental challenges are going to get most difficult. Do you think if your kite had been Aluula, it would have given you that little extra advantage to get to the top spot??

I’ve been out in 68kts on my 8m, it’s fkn mental, absolutely love it! We get it 3-4times a year where the water is like butter and the wind gets over 40kts gusting 60+ only issue is the water is knee deep at best!

Chase the wind! I know it seems counterintuitive but have you tried the 6m? You might be able to hold down your edge more with a smaller kite. I was in 35 knots just the other day with my 7m thinking I’d rather be on a 6m.
