I know you reacted to Chris Martin’s “Together at Home” performance a few months ago. Since you wanted to hear some of the full songs, I’d recommend checking out Coldplay at the iHeartRadio Music Festival from September. Great performances of some classic songs.

Annnd, with no processing, the TONOR sounds a LOT better than the Blue for the spoken word. The Blue sounds muddy, like I'm listening through ear muffs or left Q-Tips in my ears. The TONOR sounds much cleaner. It sounds "thinner," but that's the way human voices NATURALLY sound. It's not perfect, but I could almost imagine the person speaking was standing near me, when listening to the TONOR. With the Blue, there is NO WAY I could mistake that as someone in the same room. The difference is not so great for singing, but I still believe I prefer the TONOR by a bit. It's certaninly not worth the difference to get a Blue unless perhaps you were going to use it in a one-mic setup, when you were recording or broadcasting a musical group and couldn't (or didn't want to) use multiple microphones. Perhaps the Blue would "clean up" better than the TONOR if put through a soundboard and "processed," but that remains to be seen. NOW the disclaimer. KZbin is FAMOUS for trashy sound. They literally destroy the sound quality of videos uploaded to KZbinrs' channels. With that being said, there is no way we could get the ACTUAL difference in sound from these two mics unless the audio from this session was directly uploaded to a GOOD audio hosting site and played back from there rather than from KZbin. That also means there is no use getting expensive equipment if you're going to use it to make videos for KZbin (or Twitch either, for that matter). 90% or more of the benefit you'd get from expensive equipment will just be lost by recording it to KZbin and playing it back. Just so you know, I have a degree in broadcast production and have worked both as a radio and nightclub DJ, so I've used professional quality equipment which FAR outpaces anything a KZbin streamer would use unless they worked for a professional studio or a radio or TV station. BTW, Adam... Peter Piper picked a PECK of pickled peppers, not a "pack." 😁

I don't like the broadcaster voice, and the Blue was the broadcaster voice. But the Tonor was a little hollow. Not like a gamer mic, but that's an extreme hollow sound, and the Tonor had a hint of that. Things I thought the Tonor handled well: loud and soft singing. It was closer to the Blue on both, than it was midrange. It also had a lower noise floor!

That Toner mic is pretty good. The Blue is pretty warm and the Toner sounds further away, but not enough to make me spend $1,000 on a microphone.

the blue mic was subtly better, if they weren't compared side by side i'd think nothing less of the tonor. tonor seems to be a great option

And the mic comes as a “kit” with a really good boom arm that has a headphone holder built in, a shock mount, a windscreen, a pop filter, an xlr cable, 4 Velcro cable ties, and the mic itself for $60 USD. It really is a good deal and on Amazon I was able to get 10 dollars off from promo videos.
