Sailing round the Isle of Wight single handed and unsupported in a modified Mirror. Used the engine in the Solent to keep up to schedule for the tidal gates. Some HD footage still to come.

Sorry you had a wet sleeping bag. That was a tough couple of days. Excellent video, made in conditions when you had plenty of other things to worry about apart from camcorders! Have sailed round the I.O.W. twice as crew in a Wayfarer. You did well to stay 3 miles off St. Katherines point. We went inshore under spinnaker in light airs and it was a washing machine! Great posts. Thanks. Nick

Ive watched this a number of times and take my hat off to you. I have a Drascombe coaster, but lack the confidence and skill to take it on such a trip.

Thank you. I think you just need more hours at sea to build up your capabilities.

Jude The most important thing is experience of being at sea. How much time have you been at sea in the Enterprise, and have you met strong winds?

Trying to find used Mirrors to purchase here in Ontario, Canada is very difficult. Are there many used Mirrors for sale in the UK? If so, what do you think would exporting a couple boats to Toronto, Canada entail do you reckon? Costs? Feasibility?

There are boats on the Internet. Maybe 300 - 1000 dollars depending on age etc and whether complete with trailer. I don't know how to find out shipping cost. It is possible to buy a compact kit from Trident. (tridentuk.com). I think you could obtain a mast in Canada.

Mirror Cruising Just an update. I posted a Kikiji (online) Ad and got some replies. A partially built kit $800 CDN) and another #13000s restores $450, plus a reply about rigging only, so there is hope here in Canada. Oh, and the boat my father built #29647, i found on the List of Mirror Dinghys.pdf found on MirrorDiscussionForums.org. Now i have to find cruising grounds here!!

It sounds hopeful. Have you seen the videos by Heather Drugge in BC, Mirror cruises? kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooavc2Nqq9pplc0
