What a great spot on the wonderful Finn family! I loved Split Enz early on, really at a time when traditional rock seemed to be giving way to something called "New Wave." I wasn't clear on the origin of the band and Hollywood couldn't have scripted it any better to have the younger sibling join on and hit it out of the park with a hit. Neil spoke delicately about his success compared to Tim and is in fact on my list of top ten songwriters ever. But a HUGE nod to Tim who's beyond talented and I'm sure sparked a lot of inspiration for the younger Neil. Salute gentlemen, it's always wonderful to hear about great personal success especially when one's so humble and nice! Thanks as well for the awesome music through the decades!

I wish they gave founding member, Phil Judd, a shout out when discussing the early days, he was a main driving force in their sound and eccentric look as well as being the predominant songwriter.

I've always been a fan of all things Finn and this is such an interesting interview showing the ebb and flow, the Time and a Tide, if you will, of their personal and professional relationship. As always, thanks for sharing these moments!

The first record I ever bought was Waiata. And in short order after that I owned the whole Enz catalogue. I now have most of what they've done together. My favorite is Woodface.

Love the Finn brothers, Tim has an absolute amazing voice, absolutely beautiful. But I always prefer the early stuff with Phil Judd, him and Tim wrote some the best songs ❤ awe Tim looks adorable in the Wiggles clip! I do wish Phil Judd was there at the reunion

Neil has his kids names etched on a guitar neck. "Elroy" is of course "The King". Nice😁

Great doc but Tim Finn has written incredible music that rivals Neil's. I took exception to the interviewer's cheap shot about sibling rivalry. They are both great musicians but with songs like "Poor Boy" and countless others, I am firmly in the TIM FINN camp.

I'm in neither camp. Love both of them, but agree with your sentiment about Tim. He more than hold his own.

Both talented down to earth Kiwi boys from Te Awamutu. No reason to be resentful of each other. You're brothers. Family. Fuck that question 60 suck minutes.

I worked in a band formed by a pair of twins in 1985. They no longer speak to each other. That's so sad. I lost my twin brother at 40. The most devastating loss one can possibly suffer.

"..Crowded House - one of the most successful bands to come out of Australia.." Grrr! And I'm not even from the southern hemisphere!
@petergreen25346 жыл бұрын
Crowded House was created in Melbourne, songs (mostly_) penned here at the Osborne st house, rehearsed here and first gig here. Originally (Mullanes) 3 Australians & 1 Kiwi. So yeah certainly an Australian band. Split Enz are a NZ band.
@ginjamutha5 жыл бұрын
Plus let’s not forget their biggest international album was Woodface which proved beyond doubt that the Finn Brothers are at their best when they work together. The contribution to the success of Crowded House is more in the kiwi camp to be honest.
