Why is this report all about Dineh, who are not indigenous to the Southwest, but arrived only a little while before white people? Where is the equal time for Hopi to tell their side? Hopi have lived in their homeland for thousands of years. The Hopi have never squatted on anyone else's land. The Hopi cannot sell or allow abuse of the land because it violates their entire religious system and BTW THEIR RIGHTS.

The Navajo tribe have funded many academic groups to claim they are in inheritors of the Anasazi culture and they federal accepted this narrative. It why the Navajo tribe has a say at Chaco canyon and the pueblitos in Grand Canyon

And the word in Navajo for Hopi comes from “wander” or “squatter” so the Navajo view the hopis as the squatters. And the Navajo culture views hopis traditional as evil and see it as a settling the land as purifying the land for the holy ones.

@@josesisyowma5242one of Navajo four main clans is Kinyaaáanii (Towering House). It said that they are from a Pueblo and Hopi people who joined the Navajo Tribe. From this the Navajo claim lineage and ownership of the land of Tewa people.

such a weird inversion of indigenous people working through settler law... hundreds of years ago would this have been such a problem, or were the boundaries more flexible?

US government: Sorry Hopi, the Navajos have been there too long, we can’t remove them😂… but we will remove you whenever we want, no matter how long you’ve been there.
