For all the years I've came back do this video, I still ask the same question to this day- What exactly is even going on with Thomas Dolby and that Drumatix?! Did he somehow mod it to do things like trigger samples? Is he just fucking around with the patterns but making it look far more interesting/like it's doing more than playing just the drum sounds?

Cool to see Mackinac Island 76 years ago, with no Mackinac Bridge yet in existence. Was there myself in 2024 and things are a lot busier now!

Looking for Hank Jr live from Starwood Amphitheater 1988. It might have aired on TNN at one point in time. Anything Hank Jr in your collection would be great. Thanks

I think they did her in this postition. They wanted her full frame from the front, the interviewer was not supposed to block sight. So she looked to the side during the interview.

Very cool! I would love to know some of the locations in this footage - the lake where they were diving, wherever that cruise ship was, etc. Back in the 1920s, 16mm film gear was very new and wasn’t affordable for most people. The well to do were the first to have that kind of equipment.

The only locations in the film that are clearly identifiable are the city scenes in Quebec. Other locations likely in the USA.

From 22:37, What a beautiful record album of "Luciano Pavarotti: O Holy Night", very appropriate for the holiday season, which was offered during "A Christmas Special with Luciano Pavarotti" since KPBS' Winterfest 1980 Membership Campaign, then again on Winter Nights (December 1981), Winterfest (December 1982)-which Ken was showing right now, then it again December 1985, December 1986, December 1988, December 1989, December 1990, December 1991, December 1992, December 1993, December 1994 and December 1995!! Something Special on KPBS!!

Very interesting, but I literally thought this was going to be footage from Colleen Moore's long lost and highly sought after feature "Flaming Youth" (1923) the that way it was labeled. Nonetheless, thanks much for sharing.
