Jason, I still watch at least a few minutes of this almost everynight before bed. The photography is spectacular and your paddling style is so relaxed that I cant help but feel good watching this. Yep, I'm a canoehead.

Thank you so much for sharing Jason. Your films are the next best thing to actually paddling and should be on prescription! I feel my stress levels drop when I watch them. I lost a year of paddling last year due to recovery from minor surgery and this year’s plans have had to be shelved for now. Your films keep me sane a motivated through this. The French River system looks like the perfect paddlers playground. I’d love to get over there one day. Stay safe and keep up the fantastic work!

Thanks Michael. The French wont' let you down!

Loving this. You should do a video of how you do your camera set ups, a friend of mine suggested that 😉

Thanks Jason. It's getting a little nutty being cooped up in the house for the past couple of weeks (and it looks like at least 3 more in SE MI). Now more than ever your story telling skills are needed.

There is no place on earth that I have ever felt as at home as these exact places. Not Ontario, not the French, *exactly* these spots. I know them intimately enough, as boy and man, to know precisely where you are and have numerous stories for various spots along most of your routes. I'm thrilled that you posted this! If you ever want a side gig, I'd pay handsomely for your trip videography and/or editing skills!

I can not appropriately give you the highest compliments on your videos! I did cuss you out loud when I thought that the most beautiful canoe I have ever seen was inches from scraping the rocks! Lol. Excellent video my friend and I am already looking forward to the next one. Stay healthy!

Hey Jason I got a go pro for my 50th! Can you suggest any accessories for mounting it on the stern of my canoe like you do? Thanks for any suggestions. Great video Dave

Those new Go Pros are sweet! I see an H8 in my future. I'm actually just cutting a new trip video from footage taken back in 2016. In there I do a little scene showing how I mount the camera etc but I wont be done cutting for a while tho so... Simply put, its a 4 ft light hollow aluminum pipe mounted vertical / rigid in the bow or stern. I cut a perfect hole in the deck plates that the pole slides down into. I put a small nipple on the canoe floor that the end of the pole fits over. You can use anything though. A paddle wedged in with a pack, a stick etc. Any time you can elevate the camera and frame it with a level horizon, its much nicer to watch. To attach the camera to the pole I use a small folding tripod called Ultra Pod which allows you to easily attach it to a pole or paddle. I love them. Light, handy and nice little ball head. I mount that thing on all over the place! There are a couple different sizes available.
