You showcase pedals in ways they aren't necessarily made for..you get multiple usable tones in many directions from cleaned up hairy to flat out distortion and it really showcases the capabilities of the pedal..trems killer too!

This jam/song is one of my favorites of yours. I'm also impressed with the max gain settings. I think that could cut it for most late '60s and early '70s rock tones even though it needs a Muff or boost to reach later hard rock gain levels.

Pete what a great idea to show how the pedal stacks :) thank you so much, I love the channel. btw I literally thought this was gonna be a Pedal vs Amp video at first :))

Great review as always Pete! Apparently there’s a dual function to the bypass switch that toggles between low gain and high gain settings…I believe that the LED changes color. Is there any chance that you could make a short follow up video to demonstrate this capability? Cheers, Dr Ric 🇦🇺

The second gain stage gets it to a respectable crunch. I still find I want to push it with another pedal to get a true high gain sound. You have to hold the switch for a good couple of seconds for it to change over so while it could work to change mid song you’d need a pause. Love the pedal though. I no longer want a new amp.

Pete, not directly related to this video, but I've got to ask - in the Van Halen and Plexi videos, you play this EVH riff I've never heard before, something fast that I think is based around F#. If I remember right, part of the riff moves like F#5 - G5 - Csus2 - Bsus2. (It might also be in G; hard to tell from your hands.) What IS that? I've searched the VH archives and never found it. Thanks as always for the great work.

Well, that's another type of beat this time! I like it! As for the pedal: I was already thinking, isn't this an old pedal, but hey: the deluxe version! € 60 for a tremelo and effect loop. For those who want that, but hey: the Blackbird is a very great pedal anyhow!

What about running it straight into the desk? Like, instead of an amp, as an amp model?

Sounds great, definitely a stacker here! I’m looking to use the Dream 65 or something like this Blackbird as a pre-amp to a Roland Jazz Chorus 22, for home use, since my actual Tube amp is too loud to practice in my Apt building.

Enjoyed your review bud, you definitely get some tones there. A wee question, have you heard /used the woman tone pedal..am 72 and your cranium flaps are a lot better than mine.. 😂👍🥃Respect to you mate. It being approx £230 me being Scottish I think it's £200 over. 😂😂😂😂
