60’s Fender Jazz Bass Control Plate

I installed this control plate on my Jazz Bass and it sounds really good. A+ quality soldering and he even put leads on the hot terminals to make soldering on my end easy. Included screws and shrink tube also.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'm adding a j-style bridge pickup to my p bass and didn't want to add a knob. This will give the best variety of tones.

I plan to rewire a Tele this way but with a 5-way super switch.

Have you done this? I'm currently doing that to my Godin Session Custom S-S-S, with the standard pickup combos going to one control stack, an extra pickup going to the other stack, and a switch to separate their outputs with a stereo jack.

I'm using cts 450g series 250k both . Hand built.

With the concentric knobs if I turn the 500k pot all the way down and the 250 k will I only hear the 250k.

Of course. They are just two pots on top of each other. Keep in mind that these particular pots are 250k/500k. 500k/500k and or 250k/250k stacked CTS pots are a little bit hard to find.

Hi there, do you think something like this would work for a G&L SB-2? That bass originally has two volumes (one for the neck and one for the bridge). I saw a video on KZbin of a guy who did a mod with two stacked pots (volume/ tone for each pickup) but didn’t go into detail about how it was done. I’d really like to give it a shot but I’ve heard people say that two separate tone controls on bass doesn’t really work (meaning the tone on one pickup will always affect the tone on the other)

You’d have to wire these as independent pots. Find Les Paul independent wiring. Easy switch. Also add the resistors as per the classic 60’s design but 15k instead of 220k

No sir. Volume at the 250k, tone at the 500k. So your knobs would be vol on top center and tone would be bottom outer.
