So far, watching through these videos and thinking about my usage on stage, I think this might be the best option. I’m playing covers, going from Hank Jr. to AC/DC to “Play That Funky Music” and so on for four hours; I need something simple, fast, and flexible. I’ve got an Epiphone with vol-blend-tone and like the way it works; in fact, it’s my #1 go to for most shows. To get my Squier CV Jaguar P/J wired this way might allow it to once again reign supreme

@@michaelanthony9068 I hear ya. That’s 50% of the reason why I make all these different models is because of those borderline useless pots that Fender uses called J taper pots. You’re right. They’re basically on off switches.

Great video - I'm definitely interested in this for my TF bass! Question for you though - have you experimented with series/parallel wiring on the TF bass? I've seen some use a telecaster-style blade switch with a fourth position for series mode, but I'm also wondering how a Free-Way 3B3 blade switch would work - it would give you a total of 6 positions with out-of-phase options as well.
@ticktockfoolАй бұрын
Yeah, a free way would give you more options. S/P, phase etc. Yes, played with S/P on various J basses and PJ basses as well as out of phase. Completely viable sounds if you need them in a J or a PJ.

So I made one of these last weekend after seeing your descecration version and decided I don’t need the pickup selector and started writing this before seeing you mention it at 1:30. You’re not paying yourself enough for these things! I’m not selling them but it easily cost me €150 for the components alone. Also I tried to tweak it, I thought about using 50s wiring instead of the kinman treble bleed, nope the tones then interfere. No trebble bleed? Then it takes ages to dial in a nice sound. There’s so much work that goes into these circuits. I should have just trusted you and bought one right out. But I guess then I wouldn’t appreciate how great it is.
@archivalrock4 ай бұрын
Also I missed the resistors that you install at 46:30 and therefore retroactively had to go back and add them in. And squeezed everything together on the 4 hole plate with the two pots next to each other which was horrendous planning on my part (it fits if you use cheaper caps rather than your big bulky oil cigar tubes).

Just wanted to write a review after ordering the Desecration in case anyone is looking to get one! While looking for ideas for rewiring my Fender Player Jaguar PJ bass, I stumbled on this video. This wiring harness hit all the points I was looking for, separate Volume and Tone controls for P and J pickup, 3 way selector switch, and Series/Parallel switch. When I decided I was ready to commit to buying, I messaged Jeremy to ask a few questions regarding pot and cap values. Jeremy answered very quickly and we discussed how the wiring would affect the brightness of the pickups. He gave me options for which capacitors to install in the pickups, I went with .033 capacitors. Jeremy built and sent out the wiring harness very quickly. Within 3 days the order arrived. The Desecration was very easy to install and my initial reaction was this was precisely what I was looking for. It took a few days until I could crank my Super Bassman to really test drive the sounds I could get. From a pure P sound with the 3 way switch on the P pickup and in parallel mode, I was hooked. Flipping the series switch and adjusting the tones gives me the ability to dial in a nice passive humbucker sound that is not exact, but close to a passive Sting Ray sound. All in all, a week in and I'm extremely impressed with the Desecration and highly recommend it and will look to Jeremy for any future wiring for other basses.
