Trying to recapture the 'feel' of a 1960s/1970s rock & roll show is not a job to be taken lightly. Not executed correctly, or half-heartedly, and it's just a bunch of guys playing tunes.
Creating & performing THE LENNON PROJECT has taught us players many lessons. How to be true to the music, of course, but almost more important is our personal buy-in to the concept of putting ourselves in the Beatles' shoes, when they wanted to jam out live to a rocking 'Revolution' but couldn't. Or alongside John singing and pleading like a Baptist preacher during 'Imagine'. Speaking of..."imagine" trying to hit that high bar of Shea Stadium frenzy for 'Twist And Shout'. A tall order indeed!
That doesn't happen alone. When SoundTracks Of A Generation unveiled this LENNON retrospective at the Des Plaines & Arcada Theatres last December, we were SO fortunate to have you, our interactive co-pilots, along for the ride. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts--you made the show for us.
So...join us again, won't you? And for those who missed us in December, the opportunity is there. Good seats still remain for the taking at these wonderfully ornate movie houses. And it's coming up soon--Thursday, August 24th at the Des Plaines, Friday, August 25th at the Arcada, the house lights will be on for you and we'll deliver the musical and visual goods. Seeya there!
