Even as a kid I never got why people would insist "nothing could live on this planet because of blah blah blah". Like there are things on our own planet that live in environments we used to assume were impossible for life, like near the top of Mt. Everest, or inside a freaking volcano. Some bacteria like organisms, can't remember what exactly, are even seen congregating in wriggling streams on the windows of space stations in orbit, because they're so tiny they were crried out of the atmosphere, but can still live and move around without a need for oxygen, it's freaking weird but not all life is the same. If things can live in boiling gas vents at the bottom of the ocean, why can't they live on a planet filled with acid? I can't understand, in the scientific method, how anyone could ever say any environment has to be devoid of life simply because the things we know about so far haven't been able to survive there? That's like just regecting everything we've ever learned, we should be assuming there is life everywhere, at least at the bacterial and microbial level, because here on earth it's inescapable, even places we thought life couldn't exist, there was something in the dirt or something dormant waiting for one drop of water to reactivate it, life has filled every square inch of the planet, it's asinine to think there's not even a speck of life on other planets that have any activity, and even dead rock planets could potentially have life in dormancy from the possibility when it was not a dead rock planet. I mean tardirades can shrivel up to a husk and wait for decades, maybe even centuries, until they get rehydrated and they go about life like nothing happened. Edited: He mentions all of this in the video too, I'm so happy, this is why Top5 is an actually good channel!
@Jolenesmart19803 жыл бұрын
more than even centuries, Their life is not really known, however, tardigrades are able to stop their metabolism and become immortal (state cryptobiosis). ... Tardigrades were found in an ice sheet 2,000 years and came back to life. This form of resistance allows it to suspend time, but also to survive extreme temperatures.mad really

And also something I just thought of on this note, imagine there's some life, even intelligent life, on some "inhospitable planet" who breathe like sulphuric gas, and they see Earth and they're like "wtf, a planet covered in water with an oxygen-rich atmosphere? That's so toxic, nothing could live there". lmao

@@-desertpackrat Similar to your last comment, it's common for aliens to be described as having big dark eyes for example ( I know a lot of incidents are hoaxes but some I believe are not), it makes me think that they've evolved that way meaning that wherever said aliens come from, live in a very dark environment.

Space is something you can talk and think about for hours and hours and hours. The universe is absolutely terrifying, full and void of things we don't understand. The most interesting thing to me is our inability to comprehend the idea of possible nothingness, somewhere out there in the universe. Or planets with life similar to ours, advanced species or incredibly bizarre creatures. Weird structures forming, strange weathers we already have on planets close to us. We already know about so many weird things happening in the observable universe, who knows what else is out there??? I need to stop before I talk myself into a rabbit hole 🙄

Slight correction. Saturn's gravity is not massive. The planet is less dense than water. It's gravity is nearly the same as Earth, just look at the numbers: Earth pulls objects at 9.8 m/s^2, and Saturn 10.44 m/s^2. Compare with the moon 1.62 m/s^2, which is truly a big difference. EDIT> The above is using the Newtonian concept of gravity; the relativistic model, which deals with spacetime curvature, is more complex.

The great filter is pretty interesting 1) We are either alone or everyone is so far away we have no way of detecting their signals (if they even use radio) 2) Everyone else is microbial and we are the only ones to appear to have evolved to become a technical advanced civilization. 3) They wiped themselves out before they could advance any further. 3) They became extinct like the dinosaurs or some kind of viruse. 4) Only 1 civilization can exist at a time (for now it's us) 5) Other planets just don't have the right chemistry and can't produce complex life like us.

It's so weird, I was just talking about this with my dad, that even if an alien life form was advanced enough to already have technology far superior to ours and be able to travel long distances, which would also presume that their life form started way longer ago than ours to have enough time to become that advanced. BUT if they had that technology, they still have to pick a random direction to explore in. That's 359 degrees of space they won't explore until they finish exploring the 1 degree they picked, those are extremely narrow odds of them randomly deciding to go straight toward us, and happening to find us, and then sticking around for years when there's more space to explore that is probably way more interesting than earth lol But I do think that the objects people have seen could be probes. We've sent probes even with our primitive technology that is traveling so far we won't ever hear from it again. What if they've sent out probes to look for things, they might not be able to visit here yet, but got some semblance of our solar system. Either that or it was set to wander on after they lost signal, just like our Voyager probes. It will probably pass some other planet, far after we can't hear from it anymore, taking pictures of an alien race who are looking up at it aghast wondering wtf that thing in the sky is XD

I had something unexplainable happen to me like that once a few years back. I was driving from one city to another in Arizona at night. I saw 2 orange-ish bulbs/lights suddenly light up or "turn on" in the sky, like a couple of these clips - I am a little creeped out by how similar my experience was to the 3 bulb clips shown in this video, only mine was 2 bulbs. They were about mid distance up from the ground. One just turned on like a light, then a second one a little to the right, then it turned back off and left one, then that one turned off too. When I finally thought to record, they both turned off and stayed off. I passed a guy that was on a motorcycle just parked on the side of the road and he was just staring at the sky, likely creeped out like me, mind you, this was late at night. Then I passed a semi parked on the side of the road and it had words lit up on it and I only caught the word "Jesus", but did not see the rest. Probably something religious in reaction to the lights. It just "felt" different when I saw that. I just knew something was different and unexplainable - I know it was something else and I can't describe it. I never told anyone this except my mom. In a way, I hope to see it again someday so that I record it sooner.

Top5s giving us a *Truly* Amazing Upload to sit back relax and watch intensely Europe Titan Ganymede Pluto Triton Enceladus are all major candidates for life [Note there are also signs of life at mars that are long ignored as the levels of carbondiokside increase and decrease significantly if the examples are correct]

Co2 is frozen at the poles, which means it fluctuates with the Martian seasons as the poles thaw and freeze.

Most of the things about people traveling between dimensions, I feel like there's no way to prove it because of how our brains work. It's just too easy for our brain to make something up and it to feel lke a real experience. Once I hit my knee and the pain made me pass out and I hallucinated an entire scenario and people and a conversation, none of it was real, I didn't go to another dimension, my brain shut off and had to make something up because I was unconscious. It happens all the time, I've had dreams where I go to my house or my neighborhood and it feels 100% real, but something is off. It's not because I'm in a new place, or because things changed for real, my brain warped it. And when I wake up, sometimes it's VERY hard to recall if those memories were a dream or not, because dreams and reality all feel real, when it's very true to life like that. When I have a dream that the earth is cracking open and armageddon is upon us, I can differentiate when I wake up. But walking through the woods, or my own house? I forget if it's a dream or not, that's very easy for us to do.
