Thank you for showing the inspiration product alongside your dupe. Many crafters do not do that and if you missed the inspo, you have no idea how close the dupe is to the original. Yours, by the way, always come very close.

I think for that candle holder dupe, where you built the mold from lemon cartons and filled with quick crete, you maybe could put floral foam to take up some room in the base, keeping the end project lighter and then not have to use so much crete mix. Also one way to hide the marks left on from the tape, would be to (once it was all done) smear "wall joint compound" over it. The high end one looked textured and you'd get that from the compound, and either smearing vaseline or saran wrap on the glasses, could allow you to remove them for cleaning, from finger prints or old wax. It was a lot of work, with a few tweaks would look totally high end.

For the lampshade, do you know that you can add fabric softener to your paint and this makes it easier to paint on fabric? This works on lampshades and even chairs, believe it or not. There are videos online about this, try the Lone Fox videos.

Have you tried adding a bottle of fingernail polish instead of spray paint for your marble look items, u can try adding 2 colors -dont mix, just tiny swirl & dip. Let us know For the cement glass cup center piece - what about $1 tree long rectangular planter? Spray with little spray oil before adding cement
@shelbyhambright954310 ай бұрын
Liz..Quick question. I love the mirror layering you did on the finished Pottery Barn round gole mirror dupe. You have the black mirror hanging on the wall and the gold dupe mirror prompted partially in front of the black frame wall mirror. My question is, would it look good to prop a mirror slightly over part of a framed wall art instead of another mirror?
