60-year-old Donkey with SEVERE hoof distortions in need of hoof function restoration

Hoof distortions, confirmation issues, and lameness problems are unfortunately common amongst small donkeys. In this "classic" video with Gene Ovnicek, he goes over how to address some common hoof capsule distortions. Flower is a 60-year-old donkey that has developed some severe hoof capsule issues over a lifetime of conformation issues and inadequate hoof maintenance. I had no idea a donkey could live that long! I just wanted to say I went to farrier school with Merlin Anderson up in Miles City Montana and learned to trim and shoe by the Natural Balance technique and I really appreciate you posting all this content on your channel.

So wet here in New Zealand, my battle is thrush and white line disease. Sole tissue just flakes away. These hoove sspud so hard.

If you can get ahold of Artimud, Hoof Stuff or Field Paste by Red Horse Products, they help a lot with thrush and white line issues. If the white line disease is really bad, you can also try to find some pure Oregano Oil and use that to treat it.
