Sixty years ago today is known as “D-Day” in Birmingham, Alabama, when thousands of children began a 10-week-long series of protests against segregation that became known as the Children’s Crusade. Hundreds were arrested. The next day, “Double D-Day,” the local head of the police, Bull Connor, ordered his white police force to begin using high-pressure fire hoses and dogs to attack the children. One photograph captured the moment when a white police officer allowed a large German shepherd dog to attack a young Black boy. Four months after the protests began, the Ku Klux Klan bombed a Black Birmingham church, killing four young girls - Addie Mae Collins, Carole Robertson, Cynthia Wesley and Denise McNair. We revisit the history of the Children’s Crusade with two guests: civil rights activist Janice Kelsey, who joined the Children’s Crusade as a 16-year-old in 1963, and author Paul Kix.

We have to stop the alt-left from perpetuating it and re-mainstreaming it. Racism was dwindling in such short supply for more than 40 years that they desperately had to create new supply to feed their egos and justify their aging so called antiracist organizations that were losing relevance. Time to get woke.

Here's some more logic for them doctor Omar What's the difference between a stock certificate and a person there's no difference at all Both of them yield a profit a Dividend For instance buys a 100 pieces of stock at $15 a share That's $1500 But then the shares increases a 100% he just made a profit of $150,000 Now put it in employment terms say he has a business and has 100 people working for him he pays them $15 an hour each Which is his investment in them They are his stock certificates In which he has a yearly dividend of millions of dollars So his total investment was $15 an hour x 40 hours x 160 hours x 100 workers 96,000 per month x 12 month = $1,152,000 his yearly investment in his stock (the workers) his dividends from his investment is $40,000,000 WHOOP THERE IT IS!!!

You said that so eloquently. Naturally there is a basic morality in people that evolved to make us cooperative creatures, to be kind to eachother because its better for all of us collectively. Racism and all forms of bigotry cover up and obscure it. But there is hope that bigotry can be deconstructed to reveal the basic human empathy at the core of most people.

Today I am 63 years old. My parents are from the South. All eight of their grandparents were born during slavery. I understood exactly what that meant and how that experience impacted their decisions in my parent's live to provide lives for my siblings and I to live in hope of an America that we too could be proud of that included all of it's citizens as such. 60 years later we as a people are still hoping for that America. So, no I do NOT have the capacity to forgive the past failures, original sin, the domestic terrorism, discrimination, legal segregation, subjugation of the American Descendents of Slavery (ADOS), and all the evil this nation continues to oppress my folks with in the name of white supremacy and their lies therein. Because Daddy, who was from Jasper, TX took us to visit our grandfather on vacation we were able to see the South in person. Mommy, was from Shreveport, LA so we visited both places in visiting family, Daddy was in the United States Air Force when he met Mommy. They married in 1950 and were stationed in Alburquerque, NM soon after their marriage. They later when to Tripoli, Libia and Madrid, Spain which is where they were during the time "D-Day". Soon after this Daddy's orders were to come back to the USA. Mommy was not in agreement with this as she fear for the safety of her 5 children in America. She only agreed to return to the USA if we could live in California. This request was granted and we have been here ever since. Both of my parents are now deceased. But they endured too much racism during their lifetimes. Daddy who was a retired Saff Sgt. in the Air Force was also the classmate of James Byrd, Sr. He knew him as "Sonnyboy" Byrd. My parents called were friends with both Sonnyboy and Stella Mae Byrd who were the parents of James Byrd, Jr who was horrifically murdered in Jasper, TX in 1998, were notified of this lynching. I heard the pain in Mommy's voice as she is consoling Stella Mae about their loss. Daddy was different after that time. He loved America as a soldier and was proud of his service to this country. But this pain was too much. I'm going to leave this right here. Please let that sink in. The late activist Harry Belafonte in 1963 said it best in the round table discussion just after the March On Washington, concerning the people who came to participate in the protest..."The 200,000 people that were there today...but the truth of the matter is that the people that came to that gathering today were people in great anguish. And they came there with anguish and hurt and with dignity and with integrity and it was one of the most orderly displays I've ever seen of 200,000 people."

I've never been able to tolerate violence due to race, religion or gender identity. There is no excuse for the mistreatment of anyone, human or animal. I am also against wars of aggression. I don't know how I turned out that way aside from my deep capacity for empathy.I came out of a family of racists and bigots aside from my father who loved nearly everyone regardless of any differences. Those he loved most were children and horses. I'll never forget how sick and horrified he was upon hearing about these events. I'm almost glad he's no longer living because all these school shootings would devastate him. If my mother hadn't kept me away from my father until I found him when I was 11 years old I would assume I had learned from him. His family was every bit as racist and bigoted as mom's side except for his youngest brother who died young in a backhoe accident. He was only two years older than my youngest son at the time. My son was almost two years old. All except one of my brothers and all my cousins are racists and bigots. Fortunately my sons and grandchildren are not and sadly I would think less of them if they were. They definitely weren't raised that way.
