They played twice on Ed Sullivan today the 9th, the famous live show that night where they played All My Loving, Til There Was You, She Loves You then came back later to play I Saw Her Standing There and I Want To Hold Your Hand. But on an afternoon show which was laid down on tape they played three songs, Twist and Shout, Please Please Me and then closed the show with I Want To Hold Your Hand. This taped performance aired on the 23rd after the Beatles had already flown back to England.

The day after watching as a little boy I told my mother I want a guitar and guitar lessons! ( And rest her soul, she would drive me weekly to the lessons. ) Funny, I usually don't remember what I ate yesterday 😂 but I remember my guitar teacher's name was Otto Angelo. He had a bright red guitar for his students to use and I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen but looking it was probably a cheapo! But anyway I will always love the Beatles.
