Wow, love listening to your descriptives Erin, and wow, what a privilege and deserved. Fascinating how they made the bottle back then. Well done

It's been a couple years since I have drank a wine that colour by choice and even more years since I've had even a twinkle of excitement from something so old. These wines are the real unicorns, aussie rock history. super cool

Hey Ez, Seeing as this is unlikely something I’ll have the opportunity to try, nudge nudge Peter, What’s your opinion on the 2004 Bin 60a? Not as highly rated but similar bones I believe? Would be great to do a focus on “special bins” from Penfolds Love your videos

Also keen to hear the opinion on the 2004. Will it scale the same heights?
@erinlarkin2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. The 2004 is a great wine. It’s so young right now - I tasted it again recently. It’s hard to discuss its predicted evolution , because there are undoubtedly significant changes that have occurred not just in winemaking but viticulture, too. We (wine reviewers) often say that the wines produced now are better than they’ve ever been. This is likely true given what I’ve just mentioned. BUT I would say that the older wines that we revere now (including Bin 60A) have lived for decades and decades… so either the wines made today will live longer, and/or they’ll be in better shape at the same age. Crystal ball stuff. Look forward to discussing this with you when the 04 is 60years old!
