I have a 05 d12 I’m not sure if it’s a 670 or 630 but I’m around the 890k I’m looking to buy another vnl in the next few months but I’m getting an I shift this time so I can hire people who only can drive automatic. I hear so much 💩 about Volvos but from my mechanic experience volvos are the least in the shop. I was gonna go international (Cummins) or freightliner cascadia 125 but I think I like volvos the most.

Would it be worth getin a 7/8 reman D-12 on an 1,5 millon Volvo or is the Volvo exchange engines to expensive. Sense the D-12 is so good engine.
@WilliamGemstone3 жыл бұрын
Run your engine until it wont turn on or spits out a piston. D12 is a literal iron horse. You would be surprised what a good overhead job does to bring an engine back to life. It was the last engine to have an open blow by tube. Test your oil and if its normal keep running it.

When I was a company driver I was in a 2014 volvo with a d13, all it ever did was break down. Wanted to regen, or check engine light, something with emissions. Had it from 550k ran it to 600K & hated it because it was always in the shop getting fixed.

How much does it cost to do a engine swap or a transmission swap on a semi truck? Estimated range with parts plus labor hours. I understand insurance, registration, oil/filter changes, tires, brakes vary depending on how little or more it’s driven.
@Ball.Daily11 Жыл бұрын
Really depends on the engine. If you want a brand new one you could be looking at 30k if you get a used one you can half that price. Labor the for swap will probably be around 7k depending on the labor rate for the shop you use.
