You're both awesome. I like your lift Alex and your bed lift Lisa. I'm almost 80 and I am chicken to try anything now. I use a walker.

Incredible you crossed paths with someone that will help everyone reduce the high costs drastically. This was the most important cost to reduce. Great info.

Glad I found your channel. I’m still in the “imagining stage” of van life in my wheelchair, but your videos take some of my imagination and show me it can actually be made in the real world. Looking forward to going through all of your videos.

Welcome aboard! Vanlife with a wheelchair is totally possible - it just takes a bit more planning and consideration. I’m happy my videos can help put your mind at ease a bit.

This could also be a solution for someone who needs a Hoyer lift to do transfers inside.
@Keepinitwheel3069 ай бұрын
I thought the same thing. You can even get portable cranes on wheels.

There are also lifts on trolleys and tracks, made for material handling. Gotta be cheaper than the medical ones. This video really got me thinking about making things easier for my husband, shoulders shot from decades of wheeling.

I’ve actually got 3 of these around my house. One for the pool. One for the lake dock and one to go down a steep grade. Nice stuff here

So smart! I didn’t even know you could get these readily. How does it hold up outside with weather (or is it an indoor pool?)

Hi Lisa, thank you for once again for sharing such an impressive camper van build as someone with a disability with a above Knee amputation i’m always impressed with someone that sees outside the square and makes it so much easier for themselves and hopefully by sharing this modification with the simple motor lift it will help others that think they cannot afford to 15 or $20,000 special left like yourself anyway keep up the good work. Always enjoy your videos keep enjoying life to the max Cliff from Australia

I'm glad to have come across your channel. This vid is just what I needed to see. Not SCI here but neuromuscular issues. WCvehicle transfer devices are unreasonably expensive. This has given me some inspiration to look at alternatives i hadn't thought of yet. Also, I'm curious about that actuator that you use for your bed transfer. Perhaps, it's covered in another vid (haven't seen other vids, this is the first.) Have a blessed day...
@Keepinitwheel3064 ай бұрын
My bed lift is in the video where I break down the cost, but it’s an actuator from Progressive Automations - FLT-11. Just like Alex’s lift, it’s way more cost effective to use off the shelf products than if that lift was built for adaptive needs. Cheers!

@@Keepinitwheel306 Thank you so much giving me that manufacturer's name. Browsing their website and found a few potentials for my needs spending a fraction of the cost otherwise. Very much appreciated 🙏

Need this in my life. Just bought a Transit. We were wondering how we were going to get the power chair in there. The regular lifts are expensive!! This looks like a pretty straightforward install. Did he have to reinforce the van floor? I wonder the durability with daily use also
