@ NTX Outdoors - good shooting. How do you like that Leupy CDS scope and do you generally dial to each target? That was one that was on my list. I got a new Remy 700 5R in 308 a while back at a bargain price I couldnt pass up. Havent had a 308 in a long time. Really like the HS Precision stock but after looking at different options for bottom metal and mags, I got a the magpul stock and mag well. Went with a Primary Arms GL4 scope with the DMR 308 reticle. The ACSS reticle is something ive come to really like. Makes hold-overs for both elevation and wind a snap, especially when shooting steel plates. www.primaryarms.com/glx-4-16x50-ffp-rifle-scope-acss-hud-dmr-308-reticle The only thing is its kinda "bulky". I doubt I will ever take shots past 6-800. Just wish my place to shoot wasn't a 2hr one-way drive

Love the VX-5HD, its really clear. I don't always dial but it depends on what reticle I'm using. This one just has the firedot duplex so no hold overs. Sounds like you've got a nice setup! Do you still have the HS stock laying around?

@@NTXoutdoors not always. And on that topic though isnt that a 1:10 twist on those? Maybe thats the 5R? If you do have a 1:10 though; heavier projectiles with that kind of gusty wind I hear in the background will help you dramatically. You can work up loads with heavier projetiles seated at the oal of your chamber easier with a long action for longer range with a 308. My M40A1 is a little slower twist on a short action, so Im limited on heavier projectiles.But you should have room for 190gr if your running a 1:10 twist. Your choice of powder was perfect, but maybe a little to slow for that barrel length.You may find better results with IMR-4064.

@@Punk-Jw Yes its 1:10, no 5R rifling on the SPS tactical. Heaviest I've tried so far has been the 175 SMKs but ill try out some 190s sometime. Enjoy that M40A1!
