Part 2 of the Kirklees Light Railways "Storm" Autumn Steam Gala on Saturday 14 September 2013.
The mixed train returns from Shelley Woodhouse Tunnel, this time with "Hawk" leading and Tram No.7 at the rear.
"Hawk" and 0-6-4ST "Badger" then swap duties, with "Badger" being switched so as to reverse onto the Mixed Train, and "Hawk", having been decoupled, waits for the next train to arrive.
This train is hauled into Shelley by Bure Valley Railway No.8 "Thunder". We then board this train, behind "Hawk" and alight at Skelmanthorpe to take some lineside shots.
At the station, "Hawk" crosses Heisler 0-4-4-0T "Owl", before setting off towards Clayton West.
Just a few minutes later, RH&DR diesel loco "Redgauntlet" arrives on the shuttle, and is seen running round its train before setting back to Clayton West.
Next to arrive is "Thunder", seen heading from Shelley, while making a great effort of the climb into the station from the opposite directrion is RH&DR No.7 "Typhoon".
"Thunder" then departs, and it sounds as if somebody on the train's in a temper, screaming out the carriage window...
Moving to the Strike Lane bridge, where the line enters a deep cutting towards Woodhouse Tunnel, "Badger" emerges with a train from Shelley, and descends into Skelmanthorpe. KLR 2-6-2T "Fox" is then seen climbing away from the station heading the other way.
Part 3 will be uploading in about a week or so when I have filled up my next Mini DV Tape, which is currently in use.
