The third and final part of the Kirklees Light Railway's "Storm" Autumn Steam Gala on Saturday, 14 September 2013.
The next shot from Strike Lane is of RH&DR No.7 "Typhoon" heading towards Skelmanthorpe. Unfortunately, at that point a large lorry came over the bridge, and with the road being a narrow lane, the vehicle took up almost the whole width of the bridge, and there was barely room for me to film. The result was that the only audio on this shot was that of the lorry trying to flatten the photographer!
Returning to Skelmanthorpe station, "Typhoon" waits as the Bure Valley Railway's No.8 "Thunder" passes on an up train towards Shelley.
We then move back to Clayton West, where "Typhoon" is seen moving onto the turntable. The loco being too long to be turned in one go, it had to be split from the tender, and then driven forward off the turntable.
Meanwhile, RH&DR Diesel loco PW3 "Redgauntlet" departs on the Skelmanthorpe shuttle. "Typhoon" then runs past the station platforms, and waits for the next inbound train, while the KLR's resident 0-6-4ST "Badger" recieves attention outside the shed.
The next train arrives behind Heisler 0-4-4-0T "Owl", and is then taken over by the Greenley Pacific for the next outbound service. After departure, "Owl" then moves on shed outside the workshop.
"Badger" is seen again, waiting for the arrival of the shuttle.
Next, "Thunder" and "Fox" doublehead a down train into the station from Shelley. By this time, a Delorean had appeared near the workshop.
After being turned, "Thunder" proceeds to take the next train.
"Owl" is seen blowing off quietly, before our attention moves once again to "Badger", seen departing on the shuttle.
Finally, "Fox" is seen simmering quietly on shed, with steam leaking from the smokebox door.
