Yeah - I made sure I was down there about 20 minutes early, but it was run about 10 down so I had plenty of time. It was a lovely day so that wasn't an issue at all.

That was fantastic Richard. A great change to see freight operations like this instead of just trains of all types just running on the main lines. I suppose the 60 then makes up a train of empties and heads back out Yate and away on the main line? Great video, I loved it. David.

Really glad you liked it mate. Wasn't sure it would be interesting for many people, but it seems like it's been well received. Yes - it takes away the empties later in the day, usually about 5 hours later.

@@class56trainsrock62 Usually these leave 7 hours after they arrive, but I doubt it takes all that time to empty the tanks.

@@stmichaelshill7421 first down to mangotsfield station (my favourite abandoned station - 4 platforms still remain and part of the platform subway!) Using what is now parts of the ring road. 👍 Then either down to Bristol Temple Meads through fishponds and staple hill or across the GWML to join the Severn beach line. 😀 Or the other way through warmley, oldland, bitton (now parts of the Avon Valley Railway) to Bath Green Park which then joined onto the famous Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway 👍👍 any other questions feel free to ask 😀 this is my favourite railway topic!

@@stmichaelshill7421 a few interesting facts about the line: The GWR's train from Bath arrived at Bristol 5 minutes after the Birmingham train left making people stay over night in Bristol. This was one of the driving forces of the midland Railway (later-LMS) to build a branch off their 1848 line from mangotsfield to Bristol off to Bath in 1869 👍 when the Western region (ex-GWR) got hold of the line after nationalisation they slowed down services and diverted trains on the line so it would end up be closed and their line to Bath would win - which it did! ☹️ After the line closed, it had to reopen as there were problems with the bus replacement! A Bus-replacement rail service! 😂
