The Very Best of UK Steam Trains on the Mainline in 2023! Part 2 - July to December

After a successful first half of 2023, the second half of 2023 was also pretty busy for steam trains out and about on the mainline. Ranging from Flying Scotsman signing off her centenary tour in style, 7029 Clun Castle and 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe continuing their strong performances with Vintage Trains, and a summer of LMS masterpieces from two Jubilees and a Royal Scot. There were some historic moments during the second half of 2023. Flying Scotsman hauled a tour up The famous Lickey Incline for the first time, 45699 Galatea (Or 45562 Alberta/Sierra Leone) and 46115 Scots Guardsman hauled their first tour into Devon and Cornwall with The Royal Duchy in the summer, 45690 Leander destroying Sapperton Bank in both directions before withdrawal from service for overhaul and a lot of Christmas excursions featuring 34046 Braunton. Also featuring was 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley blitzing through Abergavenny with her beautiful chime whistle as well as Scots Guardsman heading to London in amazing winter conditions whilst 7029 Clun Castle and 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe went to Lincoln and Bristol for the first time respectively.
