It reminds me of the epi valve Jr. I run the 5w head into a 2x10 cab. It starts breaking up at around the same point and is in full saturation around 11-12. However, if you put it clean at 9, you have load of headroom when you plug in a clean boost and it gets plenty loud for a gig situation

I just bought an old Epiphone VJ head. I run it into my blues jr cab with a Vintage 30, and I have a Weber Micromass attenuator so I can get some breakup at low volumes. It's fun little amp. I want to try this Marla out, though.

Jim Lil did a pretty good job showing tone is not in the cab materials, it's in the cab design. That said, this would be really fun to custom finish...tweed, tolex, paint, animal hide, surfing stickers, gum, or whatever your heart desires! So, the raw, unfinished cab isn't a detriment to me!

The unsealed cab seems like overkill to me, but it's a fact that a resonant, lightweight pine cab and thin baffle board contributes to the sound of a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe. Mine sounds like it almost has a touch of always-on reverb, and the Marla seems to have a touch of the same quality.

It won't no-way no-how, because tolex -_can't_ "kill tone". A material structure either dampens or propagates resonance(s); and that's that. The Q is meaningless to begin with, but here we are anyways because: - Leo and George decided to write "tone" instead of _treble_ on the Strat's low-pass filter knob(s), and Fender Inc. has left it that way ever since. - The 60 Cycle boys needed to post another video as a matter of schedule. - Guitar players are too lax or retarded to remember that "tone" refers to _pitch,_ specifically - **NOT** timbre. As in: TriTONE, DiaTONic, PentaTONIC...remember any of that stuff? Kool. Perhaps we can resort to gazing at miniscule details or bungling our terminology less often as a group? Dunno! Anyway.... Have a great day, all!

Why is Made In USA so important to people? Do people really care about the patch of land something was built on? Is it not a bit racist to think that if it was made in America, then American people made it, and American people have better skills/attention to detail than say, the Chinese? 🤔 I guess the assumption is that if the labour is more expensive, they spend more time crafting it?
@60CycleHumcast4 ай бұрын
I think the general idea is 'probably handmade/boutique/custom shop'. In this case it's one guy building and designing everything. Also 'American' isn't a race, but yeah people are shitty and will turn anything into racism.
@noahpauley4 ай бұрын
“Made in USA” has a connotation of high quality whether the product reaches that standard or not. The amount of racism and stupidity has people thinking that foreign manufacturers are bad and make bad stuff. But that’s pretty much the opposite right now with the high quality to price ratio that foreign guitar manufacturers have had.

@@noahpauleyChina has possibly the worst reputation for worker/human rights. Buying something that's made in America not only gives some sort of assurance (not always of course) that the workers were paid and treated well. Not everything made in China is cheap junk that came from a sweatshop but a lot of it is. Not wanting to support that system isn't racist.
@hoboroadie46234 ай бұрын
I think that the impression is that there are not High Spec manufacturers like Wang and Ceriatone overseas is a lingering phenomenon. I seldom buy for price so I have no problem paying the big bucks for the high-end Chinese stuff. I am certainly old enough to remember some very dreadful American products, well before even the widespread use of plastic kind of ended the archiving and reuse of anything whatsoever.
