"A dark, mysterious, traditional-Japanese-type composition describing a grotesque and surreal world of monsters and phenomenons, interrupted midway by a refrain of "none of your business". In the original broadcast, Hachi stated that "he meant to depict the cruelty of innocent children". Later on in Hachi's blog he wrote on about how innocent children's "innocence" can actually turn destructive and evil, and also criticizing the general cold and indifferent attitude of the public. He added at the end, however, that he was "limited" in what he could say. One idea holds that, according to a few minute details in the lyrics, it is about child prostitutes and the cruel deeds that they commit in revenge. Fans on the web elaborated this and seem to be more inclined to believe that the song is actually about the tragic life of the Japanese prostitutes ("cats" in slang). The prostitutes "join up" with and "open up" for their patrons, abort the babies that they accidentally conceive (skulls in their belly), and get right back into business the next day (before the rooster could crow). It is also said that the title of the song, the Rakshasa and the Corpse, hints at the cruel relationship between the patron (a man-eating demon) and the prostitute (a corpse). The exact meaning of the lyrics is open to interpretation." Vocaloid wiki (not mine)

Officially, this is a song about the cruelty of small children. And I agree. I was one of those children that was on the other side - one of the ones who had cruelty forced on her. And whenever a small child is bullied enough that finally s/he says something? What is it that adults tell them? Isn't it always, "Well, you are only children. It cannot be as bad as you say!" Tell that to the children who kill themselves because they are the subject of cruelties that no adult would allow to be inflicted upon them or be allowed to inflict on others. Children can be cruel enough to drive others to hurt themselves, isolate themselves, and even kill themselves, and what do we adults say? "They are only children. Go, let them laugh and play."

+Atsuko the Regalia They can be. They just don't take things done by children seriously enough. Did you know that a friend of mine got a lens of his glasses put out and consequently needed stitches on his eyelid? It was done by someone who would have been arrested for what she did if she was over 18, but all that happened was my friend was told to "be more careful.", and she got away with almost putting his eye out. A teacher saw everything from less than five feet away and no consequences were had, save my friend and his family needing to shell out money for new glasses and stitches for his eyelid.

FULYA_ANSUL_SOL=HYMME Wow... how's your friend doing?
@WingedWithFireyMana9 жыл бұрын
+Atsuko the Regalia considering this was fourth grade and he is now 25, fairly well. But he does have a scar on his eyelid and his eye is getting worse and worse much faster than his other one. Pressure damage and astigmatism don't mix well, he was told. And the girl who did that to him had no consequences, despite that incident, destruction of school property, theft, truancy, and willful violent behavior resulting in several injuries that required surgery. Also drove two girls and a boy to attempt suicide. All before entering high school. That is what the cruelty of small children does. And we adults do nothing, call it trivial. Well, I don't. After all, I was one of those two girls.

Hachi himself may have stated that this song is about the innocence of children becoming destructive and evil (and the initial lyrics, often omitted from the versions of the song that we hear), DO indicate that, but the majority of the lyrics tell a few different stories all at the same time. Highly interpretive, and beyond amazing when you think about it.

So there was a sex slave that was bought by a man. She accidentally got pregnant by the man, but the man didn't want the baby, so she had to kill the unborn baby, representing the "skulls in her belly." Whenever she says 'no, no, no, no means no' I'm not sure what she means. It either means she doesn't want to have sex or doesn't want to kill her baby. I think the cat is the man who bought her, hence the "Come girl, and we shall play."

I feel like this song originally inspired MASA to start his career. If so, then that’s pretty cool! I remember when I was still new to the Vocaloid community and I legit thought that this song was by MASA before I learned who Hachi is. I clearly didn’t know or recognize MASA’s Miku tuning then.
