The translation at 3:44 is incorrect. The President did not agree to have the authority to control migration. Instead, he stated, "We will assist you and continue to do so, but the issue must be addressed at its core."

Same as when she asked is this not a serious issue? (regarding the immigration issue) and AMLO said no. But he was referring to Abbot’s actions. I mean we all know his actions are just part of a show and obviously not serious. A lot of thing are lost in translation or maybe it was on purpose.

I agree...the press is the press of manipulación with the wording. Either way, i live in México and the Best thing that has happened to our country is AMLO. He's the equivalent of the AB Lincoln or JFK of the U.S. presidents to us in México. He's once in a hundred years that come along. Viva México. Thank You Lord for putting AMLO as our president.

I don't know why you took down a comment that had reached 1.1k likes. Here, someone mentioned that you forgot to ask President AMLO about all the unregulated firearms trafficking that makes it to México border from the U.S straight to the Cartels hands. Then had answered that it was because the U.S. would look bad and sloppy if they asked. Anyway, dont delete this one. The people should know all sides of this issue. 🇲🇽 🇺🇸

"You know why we dont have the drug consumption that you have in the United States? Because we have customs, traditions and we dont have the problem of the disintegration of the family" That was my favorite quote of the interview and he is right. Making something illegal is not going to solve a problem that is rooted in the cultural environment that the US is living in. We live in a country where we blame everyone and everything except our parental values. We no longer care about our surrounding community and we give way too much power to our politicians. We need to wake up!

No. Consumption and production are equally to blame. He needs to do his job on his side of the border which is tackle and dismantle production. We need to do our job to minimize the desire for consumption. Its not one or the other. In fact, its insulting to see this leader not take any responsibility for drugs coming FROM his country. No one is asking for him to solve the drug crisis in the US. But he does need to handle the cartels and drug production in his country. What he did was shift any blame on the Mexican side to completely being on the Americans. "AmERica BaD" reasoning isn't the only explanation of this issue. No doubt we have an issue with "legal" drug abuse, but that is actually being tackled and address and a separate issue. Fentanyl and other drugs illegally being sold here are coming from his country. Fix it.

The journalist criticizes a lot about drugs but does not say that American citizens are also involved in the business and they are also cartels that are dedicated to distributing and also the United States is guilty of selling or allowing illegal weapons to drug traffickers in Mexico... why export drugs to the United States ? It is because the drugs that are exported to the USA earn a lot because the dollar is worth more than the peso... if there were not that difference, exporting drugs would no longer be a business... it is urgent that the peso be equal to the dollar to that it is not seen as a business that leaves a profit... it may not solve the problem but it will surely be reduced

Sad that a reputable outfit like 60 Minutes reduces an interview with such an important trade neighbor to this one issue. Of course most US Americans know nothing about Mexico. The issue of the wall wasn't even Trump's to begin with. It was Roger Stone's way of helping Trump remember to focus on the populist issue of immigration.

Claudia Sheinbaum was not "handpicked" like you said. she went through a voting process. no candidates have been assassinated, pre candidates and other political figures have been. The phone number of the NYT reporter is on her Lnked in profile. the refinery is essential for the energetic dependency of Mexico. that's why he also bought the refinery in Deer park TX.
@Christian_Sandoval
@Christian_Sandoval 9 ай бұрын
What? What voting process did Sheinbaum went through, exactly? She'd been called the succesor for the last 6 years and then unsurprisingly won some poll. A lot of candidates were murdered in 2018, with the blessing of the oligarchy, organized crime was obviously trying to boicot the elections that AMLO won. Just yesterday, PT candidate for Atoyac, Guerrero was murdered. They are trying again the same boicot against an election MORENA is surely going to win, only worse for this election, and your reaction is to pretend like all that violence is fake news. Also, your own LinkedIn page is an appropiate place for sharing your phone number if you want to, it's very different when it's shared in a confrontational manner to millions of people watching the daily En familia con chu abuelo AMLO that had no bussiness or reason to even look up for that number. That's called doxxing and it's awful when it happens. Specially form a chief of state, that was beyong petty, it's like Canelo fighting against a toddler. Trying to minize criticism towards AMLO with lies works against 4T's interest, why would you sink to the level of AMLO opositors? Those guys that insist on giving Felipe Calderón's nicknames like "Cacas" or "Narcopresidente" to AMLO are the reason he's so high in the polls. When they hit low, AMLO takes the highground, when they lie about him, AMLO seems that much more honest. Really, you don't have to do anything for MORENA to win the election, their opositors are doing all the work for you. So why would say all that BS about Sheinbaum being voted, no candidates killings (or pre-candidates, they matter too for crying out loud) and trying to justify doxxing? You have to realize it would be more convenient for the 4T if you rather share no false comments about them, right? What is this? Like AMLO said, are you trying "to smear if not stain" the oposition? No lo haga, compa.

Yeah.... about pouring money into the Mexican infrastructure... the US does/did not appreciate that very much. 😒 Last year a US intelligence report was leaked, were one congressman/elected-official was complaining about how much money the current Mexican president was pouring into the country's infrastructure, and completely negating US companies access to that money. 😂😂😂 Several KZbin channels dedicated to news and politics reported on the incident, but no mainstream media outlets did. You can google it to find out more. *Long story short, the US doesn't like it when countries prosper. Not even when it's their next door neighbor.* 😆😥
