"Our society can only flourish when the inherent worth of each person is valued." Bravo Mr. McClean!

And that's what russians don't have - they don't see worth in a human, they don't see worth of life, they don't value human life. Such are the russian people and their governments over ages up until now. And they are proud of that, they take tremendous pride in being this way. That's the most disturbing.

@60 Minutes, you're doing a good job, but you should cease from using headlines such as this. Stop lumping over 56 African countries together. It is disrespectful to the diverse people of different African countries. Be specific about the names of the country(ies) you're reporting about.
@BoringDad12722 жыл бұрын
Laziness and arrogance explains this. But once it is about one successful African, they start differentiating nationalities.

We would love this opportunity in the United States. Unfortunately, Republicans lobbied hard to have felons lose their voting right, and felons cannot be lawyers either. The system doesn't work.

but who's in jail for 8 yrs before their case is heard in the US? Also, those, "lawyers," in Africa are not practicing. They're behind bars helping their fellow inmates navigate a crazy legal system. We get free public defenders in the US whose whole goal is to plea bargain criminals out of jail as fast as possible. Also, who's getting put to death for robbery or fraud? Also, more folks are leaving Africa for the US than vice versa.

Well, the criminals behind bars in Africa are not practicing lawyers. They're just navigating their legal systems behind bars. They're taking a 3 wk law class...

Beautiful and cynical on various levels. These particular prisons demonstrate a LITERAL understanding and encourage REHABILITATION to prisoners. Maybe PENITENTIARIES can learn something from less complicated governments.

The law can be very exciting and it often works in this country at least in the peoples finger when they know it but that’s the problem knowing it and then having a system that’s not correct and being able to have a fair trial and you need money.

And Kenya is the worst country where people stealing a pair of shoes convicted 15 yrs but corrupted officials in the government are honored to be the government officials running for positions for years
@libaaxalee2 жыл бұрын
Just like lots of African countries Kenya has lots of issues the primary one being corruption. I used to live there for years, got arrested couple times with no reason whatsoever. In the morning cops will tell you to pay money since they already know what you got to be release, if you don't have any money you are given the option to reach out to someone who can bail you out, otherwise accept any case they give, just unbelievable.

This system doesn't not work and it never will. Thirteen years in prison then set free? What injustice is this. Why are you wearing the garb of your oppressors? Each African country needs to reform their justice process. Reset sentences and provide representation on your country's terms. Liberate your people. Justice must take priority. We all need to support this need for financial support and man power to continue achieving more positive outcomes. Blessings Justice Defenders. The Most HIgh sees everything.
