Every LA Clippers player should feel blessed to have a passionate owner like this. He could retire and buy a tropical island all for himself. Yet his NBA team is his passion but sadly full of spoiled NBA players. Especially Kahwi Leonard, the one with a max contract is available for play only when contract extensions are near. I hope to see the Clippers in the finals this year against Steph’s GS.

Trust me if kawhi could hed play every game. He has a chronic knee issue that keeps him from playing every game. Most guys would retire with his knee. Hes still in the gym working out harder than others trying to get right.

That's crazy. Imagine being as rich as that guy and putting up the money himself to build his franchise its own arena. And he looks like he's having a blast, as he should. He gets to hang out with the greatest NBA stars in the world and literally be his franchise's biggest fan for a living.
@dorothygale1104Ай бұрын
Building a stadium or arena without any public money is not at all unusual for pro teams in California, as the Dodgers, Rams, Lakers/Kings (2 arenas), Giants, Warriors, FCLA and Galaxy all built their home venues without any taxpayer/public money involved. Intuit Dome is another in a collection of the best sports venues in the country and arguably the world all built without a dollar of corporate welfare for billionaires.

Leaving one of the biggest markets in the US for sentimental reasons!? Ballmer is to business savvy for that! Heck, the other owners voted for new rules for the salary cap (second apron etc.), just to keep him from spending as much money as he decided he would like to.

As a long time Clipper fan it’s NEVER been easy. The perpetual disappointments, the endless injuries and the constant insults from laker fans in LA make it TOUGH. I must say however that Steve Ballmer, both as an owner and as a man, has been a wonderful source of pride for me. I love his enthusiasm, his philanthropy and his drive to improve the team. I’ve never seen a team owner I could honestly say was the personification of the team’s “number one fan”. He greets the players in the tunnel after games, he seems to live and die at pivotal moments during the games and he seems genuinely concerned about players when they’re hurt (such a welcome departure from the typical soulless owners I always see in sports) and he really has turned us into a world class organization. For him to build a stadium like he did (yes I know he’s insanely wealthy but still…), I thought was a great example of an owner putting his money where his mouth is. I recently talked to some laker friends of mine and they, begrudgingly, said Ballmer is one of the few things they like about the Clippers. His presence and passion for the team, whether or not it translates into winning a championship, have helped me remain a Clipper fan and I’ve only seen my admiration for him, as an owner and a man, grow. Thank you Mr. Ballmer for being a fantastic owner and, I think, an even better, man.

Amazing person and family! They don’t use money or success to define them, just genuinely great people. He’d literally be at my hs basketball games cheering louder than everyone, sweating profusely, with no security lol.
